Breaking News!!: Needles, CA: Needles City Council voted unanimously to declare the City of Needles a Second Amendment Sanctuary City.

Members of the Needles City Council has voted unanimously to declare the City of Needles a Second Amendment Sanctuary City.

The vote occurred during the Needles City Council Meeting in Needles, California on Tuesday, June 11th, 2019.

According to the agenda item packet released from the City of Needles, California has strict gun laws in comparison to neighboring states. Gun laws are set by the California Legislature. The federal constitution provides protections for citizens to “keep and bear arms” Arizona Residents will not come here because of gun laws and business opportunities are being missed, Needles City Council Member Timothy Terral.

Councilor Terral’s request is to declare the City of Needles a Second Amendment Sanctuary City and to consider any or all of the following:

1) To request that the Sheriff not enforce weapons violations by California, Nevada and Arizona residents.

2) To request that the Legislature allow an exemption to California gun laws for the City of Needles and within a 65 miles radius of Needles.

3) To request that the Legislature allow reciprocity of concealed weapons permits with Nevada and Arizona. Fiscal Impact would be for the cost of research and ordinance preparation.

“The City of Needles, California recognizes the Second Amendment, above what the State of California does. The right to keep and bear arms; we’re holding that sacred. It’s not gonna say go break the law by no means, you will still have to follow the law until the law is change, this is the first step to change the laws in California,” said Needles City Council Member Timothy Terral.

After some more discussion, two motions were presented and voted on that night.

Dale Jones, City Clerk for the City of Needles, repeated the first motion before they voted; “The motion was to declare the City of Needles a Second Amendment Sanctuary City,” and seconds later, members of the Needles City Council voted unanimously “Yes” on the motion stated

This idea has been floated in other respects.

Libs may learn that cities supporting school prayer or are anti-abortion could also become ‘sanctuaries’

I guess this decision is going to Needle the California Marxists to the point that they start jumping out of windows (my 4th of July wish).

I think the children of Needles, Cal. are a lot safer today than they were yesterday and their parents are glad of that.

Interesting. I know some of the laws have been changed in the state but the Sheriff and police chief have broad discretion in issuing CCW permits. There was a time when a citizen could “ccw shop” and receive a permit from any jurisdiction that would issue one. People in Los Angeles would get one out of Culver City. But I think now the law requires some sort of nexus to the issuing authority - either a resident in the county/city, or spends a lot of time there for business/work.

But I do know that a CCW permit issued in Needles (just like any CCW permit issued anywhere) is good anywhere in the state of California. If they don’t already, they should charter their own police department and start issuing permits.

That Sanctuary title is going to confuse a lot of people.
Many associate that word with support of Liberal causes.

Cloward-Piven 'em to death. Every time the liberals come up with some crack-brained law, declare the city to be a sanctuary from it. Make 'em sick of ever thinking up that whole business.

The problem is that Arizona and Nevada are literally right next door. They don’t honor CCW’s from other States.

Hopefully our side is smart enough to fully grasp it - and maybe the DUmmies on the other side will miss the import and not march and riot against the Constitution...

California sanctuary cities can only be sanctuaries if they agree with the hard core left. No such thing as a sanctuary for constitutionalists.

Yeah, well I LOVE that someone is using their own tactics back against them.

Man, that's got to irritate the left.
