Liberal as he was, Mayor Giuliani cleaned up the city, implemented tough new crime policies that dropped the crime rate dramatically — which, for all his faults, Bloomberg mostly left in place. Comrade DeBloodio has undone a lot of those policies with the expected results.
I’m not saying I’d want Rudy to be president, or even governor or senator, but he was an excellent mayor.
