NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is really stretching that “ripped from the headlines” mindset with its latest episode. Not only does SVU maintain the media lie about the Covington Catholic kids (this time with Jewish students), the show also manages to play defense for Rep. Ilhan Omar (with a Muslim councilwoman standing in for "Native American elder" Nathan Phillips). Who knew you could fit so much intersectional dishonesty into one hour?
The May 9 episode “Assumptions” opens with two Jewish teenage boys running from a vandalized synagogue where we find Muslim Councilwoman Nahla Nasar (Nazneen Contractor) has been raped. Since one of the teens, named Ari (Ted Sutherland), wore a red cap, a narrative quickly forms, especially when Nasar points him out in a lineup. “This boy grabbed my hijab and spat in my face,” she says. “These people are Islamophobes. It's in their blood. One of these boys must have raped me.”

i recorded that episode, but deleted it immediately, when the Jewish woman said “he was wearing a red hat!” ugh. what a bunch of bullshit that show has become.

I noticed this kind of stuff on “The Rookie” as well and other shows so we stopped watching. The propaganda and lies are getting so bad that Saul Alinsky is [even] rolling in his grave.

As much as I like nearly all of Dick Wolf’s shows I’m on the edge of taking L&O off my record list. I guess I got confused by one of the entries above that said something about the councilwoman lied. Was that in the episode??? I don’t know if I’ll watch it or not. L&O has kinda REALLY gone over to the dark side.
Yeah, but he’s spinning in glee. We started to watch Rosewell when it first came out and only lasted about 15 minutes when the “You pulled me over because I’m a latino.” appeared and we were gone. I’ve read it got worse as it went along.
Some one noted that near the end of the episode she says she lied. About what, I have no clue. Like I said, never seen an episode.
I don’t understand what is being said here. The statement about the councilwoman lying,,,, is that in the episode/show or in the article. What is the ‘article’. Sorry for the confusion.
SVU has sucked from day one. One of the most unrealistic cop show I ever saw!
I liked it until the mid Curtis era.
I watched the Rookie for a while bit gave up.

The point was that even though the woman was in the wrong she HAD been assaulted and raped and deserved justice as much as any innocent party.
A mention of taqiyya would have been appropriate, as it is a staple of Muslim culture.
I do not watch that show, but on the first episode of FBI, a building in the projects is blown up by a terrorist. At first, it looks like MS-13 did it, but further investigation reveals that a conservative talk show host is behind it, trying to make immigrants look bad. Blind hatred is responsible for a lot of mindless writing these days.
Goebbels could have learned a lot from our mainstream media.
