You may well be right about this. Biden sure doesn’t seem to actually want to run.
Could very well be that he is only running because barky and other rat higher-ups have begged him to. But with the understanding that his running mate will be Knee Pads Harris. And with the understanding that he will resign for “health reasons” within 2 months of taking office.
In our new era of flaming stupidity as a replacement for such traditional ideals as patriotism, achievement, morality, etc, Biden could win. Nobody can predict the future (even tho we all try)
However; I think:
1: he simply does not have the physical strength to complete his campaign. The intersection of the upper limit of his physicality with his articulation is going to affect his speech a lot more than it already has. Hey, we all get there.
2: He’s ultimately going to have to go “deplorable” as did HRC, which IMO was one of her top three tipping points, if not the top one.
3: He has this Ukraine problem. Yeah, he’s really going to be seen as “a man of the people” when he wields $1 bn in aid to get the Ukrainian prosecutor off his son. On videotape. This has not even been exploited by the Repubs yet.
4: He certainly isn’t going to appeal to the young socialists and to the extent he looks like he’s going to displace the mighty Bernie, this is not going to generate affinity with that crew. I don’t think we’ll see discouraged Trump voters; we’ll see discouraged Berniebots if Biden comes out on top.
Bottom line: I just do not think he can finish the game. This that we are seeing now, this 32% lead, is indicative of nothing so much as the transient nature of the left’s inability to focus on something for more than a week. Whatever you want to say about HRC, she indeed was “focusable” for all the time of the campaign. They got nobody else like that.
When you see how far the left has gone trying to destroy Trump, publicly, just imagine how much they are willing to do under the radar. I am less likely to believe polling data now than ever before.

Gonna be a tough battle for Trump. Biden is a better candidate than Hillary was.

Right now; Biden’s name recognition factor is still growing his lead among the other D also-rans. I’d say he’s about peaked out at the 40% level in a field this large; and Biden, being the King of Malaprops, will watch this lead wither a bit over the coming weeks/months.
I think your analysis is correct - and is evidenced by the lack of D Governors and former Governors in this race. With the exception of Hickenlooper - there is really no one. Where is Cuomo for example?
Even Tom Wolf here in PA has a reasonable argument in that D field. Two term elected D Governor of a now ‘Swing’ state that Trump won by a small margin could possibly flip it back in 2020, and with one more medium sized state, win the 270 needed.
I don’t think he has anywhere near the personality needed to pull it off, even in the D primaries, his repeated electability is primarily due to his invisibility in the State, much like Senator Bob (Who?!!?!?) Casey.
I have noticed that there don’t seem to be any videos of Gropin’ Joe making the moves on Hillary.
