Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has reached an agreement with Attorney General William Barr to stay on at the Justice Department a little while longer, a source familiar with their conversation told Fox News despite initial plans to step down by now.
Fox News and other outlets previously reported that Rosenstein had planned to step down in mid-March. However, sources close to the deputy attorney general say Rosenstein has not yet given his two weeks notice. He remains at the DOJ as Special Counsel Robert Muellers Russia probe enters what is widely believed to be its final phases. There has been much speculation that Rosenstein would like to stay in his post until the investigation concludes.
DOJ sources confirmed to Fox News that Rosenstein is still the primary liaison between department headquarters and Muellers office, even though the recently confirmed Barr has ultimate oversight over the Russia investigation.
When Muellers report on Russian meddling in the 2016 election is complete, he is expected to hand his findings to Barr. It is unclear what will happen after that.

Internal squabbling has delayed the release of the Mueller Report, and Rod ‘The Weasel’ Rosenstein isn’t leaving until the report is issued.
If I recall correctly, the four FISA warrants were signed separately by Comey, Yates, McCabe and Rosenstein. The first three were fired. That Rosenstein survives makes no sense.
What kind of POTUS keeps a criminal like Rosenstein employed in FBI?
Extreme doubt about POTUS actually running the executive branch...
Rod’s hoping for another opportunity to wear a wire.
Rod The Weasel Rosenstein isnt leaving until the report is issued.

It might not be ‘the’ report; could be multiple reports. I hope not but it would be a way for Mueller to extend his witch hunt well into the election, which of course was the plan all along.
Considering everything I’ve seen from President Trump, since he’s been elected ... it’s pretty clear to me that he’s running the Executive Branch as President.
‘What kind of POTUS keeps a criminal like Rosenstein employed in FBI?”
You mean DOJ. Anybody else, mostly, would already be in prison, not running an investigation of the President.
Rosenwiesel is busy shredding documents.
The Weasel will remain so that he can continue to have access to the report or any drafts, as a way to give a heads-up to whoever needs getting a heads-up about the report's contents.
I think you responded to the wrong comment. I didn’t say Rosenstein was employed by the FBI.
Rosenstein is like herpes. You can’t get rid of him.
AG Barr could direct Mueller to make it one report

As broad as the Mueller “investigation” has been its hard to imagine it all concluding with a single report. It could drag on for some time. At this point, we have no idea what Barr is or is not going to do.
You are right Should have gone to number 4. My computer screen sometimes jumps around.
So look for a new round of madeup Twitter nonsense saying that both of these guys are white hats and that we should all just sit back and enjoy the (imaginary) show.
What we do not know at this time is how much of his investigation notes Mueller is going to turn over to U.S. Attorneys, such as the SDNY, for further investigation, thus making that information “part of an ongoing investigation: and thus not in the final report(s).
It means that Mueller has decided to not shut down his investigation. He has found more evidence to destroy.
This is the test for Barr. If he doesn’t shut it down, he is deep state.
No biggie. :)
One thing we do know for certain is that Mueller is unethical, untrustworthy and politically motivated. That’s a bad combo which to me calls into question the supposed nearing end of his investigation. I believe he is funded into September; that’s another half a year away.
And after September, he will be funded until November 30, 2020. And he probably be funded past then. He will Stay until the Democrats steal another election.
