Presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren on Monday night called for abolishing the Electoral College.
The Massachusetts Democrat said during a town hall on CNN that she would back a plan to scrap the process and move the country to a national popular vote.
“My view is that every vote matters,” Warren said to applause. “And the way we can make that happen is that we can have national voting and that means get rid of the Electoral College — and every vote counts.”
The electoral process, she said, effectively disenfranchises voters in states dominated by one party.

The call for elimination of the Electoral College is a move to turn this country Socialist. To do that the power and sovereignty of the states must be quashed. All true power must be put in the hands of a central/Federal government. That is not what the founder’s intended and it is not a true representation of the whole population.
That she does not know or pretends to not know that the states elect the president is alarming. That she will not ever mention the Constitution requires this and the reason why is damning.

I happened to flip past CNN last night and caught the reparations part of Pocahontas’ act. What a fricking moron.
The two votes for the two votes allocated for each senator would be given to the winner of the popular vote of that state.
This way NYC, L.A., Chicago, Seattle, etc... would not control the vote for the whole state.
As do ALL the DEMS; what is new here?

Thankfully it eould take a Constutional amendment to abolish the Electoral College. However, I am concerned by states attempting an end run around the Constitution by awarding their electoral college votes to thr candidate winning the national popular vote. I trust this nonsense will be shut down in the courts before the 2020 elections.
There is this to consider. A popular vote and the Bill of Rights cannot coexist. No longer would these be natural rights protected from government. They would be rights granted at the indulgence of the government. It would be the whim of the majority which would determine what rights would be indulged.
Two words against this anti American proposal: nationwide recount.
Picture the Florida recount in 2000 and the recounts since whenever a Republican has won in just those few states. With a national “popular“ vote, there would be a national recount in every precinct in every state in the country. We might not know for years who was elected president.
Furthermore, there is no such thing as a national popular vote. Many states stop counting absentee votes when the margin of difference in the state is greater than the absentee ballots cast. If 100,000 absentee ballots were not counted in just one state, how can there be a national popular vote?
Yea, and I want to abolish Democrats. We can’t always get what we want. And the EC is codified in the USC. Democrats, are not.
