no he could have declared the emergency and vetoed. I f the veto was upheld, the congress could still pass the spending bill and avoided the shut down, since the wall would be tied up in court.
Making republican senators override his veto hurts them for re-election. So what? What good are they? It was worth that to stand on principle. Whatgood is it if the laws make illegal immigration easier and delay deportation, while you think we’re secure behind a partial wall?

He just codified into law that illegals can stay if they bring a kid, anyone’s kid. They have no way of telling whose kid they bring. Child trafficking will go up astronomically.
And before I hear from the Trump crowd about being a never Trumper, let me say I gave a lot of money to his campaign, went in person to 4 of his rallies, listened to most of his campaign rallies, and am very glad we don’t have Hillary, but I’m tired of his working with the DEEP STATE. During his inaugaral day, he even called Bill and Hillary good people. I was hoping that was an aberration, but he needs to be liked too much by the wrong people - RINOs and DEMs.
We won’t have a country if he continues down this road.
Thanks for posting the very long list of Trump’s accomplishments in his first two years. We need to be reminded of it periodically since the dishonest media won’t mention it.
