Impeachment Will Be Good for Trump ( And Bad for Democrats )
American Thinker ^ | 01/19/2019 | William Gensert

Since Trump's election, the dream uniting all Democrats is to impeach the president. Having won the House and with a mere majority necessary to initiate Articles of Impeachment, that dream will finally come true – never mind that chances of conviction in the Senate are near nil, with 67 votes required to sustain and Republicans still in the majority. They will impeach because, as with the scorpion, it's their nature.

It doesn't matter that after more than two years of investigation, President Trump has not been found to have committed any crime. Impeachment is not a criminal proceeding; it is a political proceeding, and in the "People's House," the majority decides what constitutes "High Crimes and Misdemeanors."

Articles of Impeachment will soon pass in the House because Democrats will want the Senate trial to play out during the 2020 presidential election.

Democrats are prone to overreach. When Obama was elected with a majority in the House and a filibuster-proof Senate, they ran amok. Convinced they would never lose again, their rule was uncompromising.

Forgetting that nothing lasts forever, and the aphorism stating that if something can't go on forever, it will eventually end, Obamacare was rammed through Congress using legislative trickery and claims of saving money and keeping doctors and health plans.

Democrats also passed Dodd-Frank financial legislation, which eliminated low-interest credit cards and prevented people and small businesses from getting loans and mortgages.

Obama and the Democrats spent eight years throttling industry and the economy with regulatory zeal. Obama's reliance on executive orders to control all aspects of citizens' business and personal lives and the weaponization of federal law enforcement; intelligence agencies; and administrative agencies such as the FBI, DOJ, EPA, and IRS to pursue political opponents and extra-legislatively enact law slowly turned the voters against the Democrats.

They’d make him a martyr and set the stage for his easy re-election.

Democrats should run away from impeachment as fast as their feet can carry them.

They won’t because of their blind hatred of Trump and its in their nature to overreach.

If they want to increase Trump’s popularity, just do it!

Doesn't impeachment in the House require hearings? Doesn't the Democrats and Republicans ask questions? Maybe it will be time for the Republicans to give speeches on their turn.

Its a politcal not a legal decision. Democrats will decide whatever are impeachable offenses and move them to the Senate.

Trump has no chance of prevailing in the House. He plays his cards right, the GOP Senate would acquit him.

Democrats need overwhelming evidence of criminal misconduct to make the case to remove the President from office.

They don’t have it.

Trump must know that he will be impeached, that’s why he’s holding back the info and riding it into the 2020 campaign that has just begun.

He’s taking the Art of War approach of looking weak when you’re strong. If he plays his cards now, the enemy will think of some other reason to impeach him.

Impeachment will happen, so why is he compromising on the border with nothing to lose? Burn it down on your way out.. no compromise.

Your trust in the Republicans who couldnt repeal Obamacare or build a wall is lot higher than mine. Their souls belong to the dems and they are all drunk with power, like in the Biblical sense.

Impeachment means zero.

Removal isn’t going to happen.

Grapes of Impeachment. They will look like a bunch of leftist lying sour pusses. The republic may yet be saved by letting people see their true nature.

There’s quite a distance between funding for a wall and throwing the duly-elected President of the USA out of office and they know it.

Is Trump’s ex-Lawyer, Michael Cohen, the Chief Lie Teller & Trump Back Stabber still going to testify before Congress?

This explains why Republicans are more for impeachment than Democrats.

This author is out of his mind. A small faction of Democrats want to impeach Trump. The majority of Democrats respect the Constitution to at least the extent that they want to wait to 2020 to try to replace Trump.

We do ourselves a dis-service by spreading this baloney. It is not true. If is fake, false, and absurd.

“Articles of Impeachment will soon pass in the House because Democrats will want the Senate trial to play out during the 2020 presidential election.”

Can’t Trump just say, “I consider myself impeached” and go on his merry way.

They are saving the Impeachment until RBG dies. Then they will impeach and claim he can’t pick her replacement until his Senate trail ends and they will draw that out as long as possible.
