If it at dropped 1/5 of a degree the headline would have been “Global Cooling “ to destroy all life on earth. These people have no scruples!!!

I have always wondered why, if CO2 has such solar radiation reflective capability, why wouldn’t an increase in atmospheric CO2 reflect solar radiation back into space and actually cause a global cooling event??

Funny you should ask. When I was deciding on a career, I chose Geology because the hysteria then was global cooling, and because of it we were going into another ice age. There have been so many cycles of warming and cooling that they are too numerous to count. The lowly man was not able to even slow down one of them.

I had replied to the wrong person, but here was my response to you:

I chose my career after reading a “Times” article on the “disaster” of building a nuclear reactor near a fault zone in California.

First year in school I learned that EVERYWHERE in California is near a fault zone.

Still love my job. 17 years into it I ended up working with an old-timer. Going through and organizing his stuff to get his business back up and going, I came across an old report of his.

Cross-sections of the faults near that reactor - the work done before the place was built, in order to take them into account for the design!

Fifteen years later I visited him often as he was in hospice, waiting to die. I told him about the job I was working on - they were taking down an old dam, but needed more detail on the geology.

“Hell - I did the work there before they put the dam in!” He then proceeded to tell me (from his bed where he would pass a few weeks later) all about the geology of the area.

By the way - in his last days he would wake up briefly and mumble things. He said there were wonderful rock outcrops in Heaven. And beer! At the time I thought he was just delirious. However, the more I have learned and thought about it, I actually believe that he is correct.

Underwater volcanoes.

They discovered a super-volcano under one side of Antartica — the side that is melting.

Who would have thought that magma could melt water!

Wrong. It would have said “Unexpected drop in temperature staves off global warming catastrophe.” Scientists believe the drop is due to X,Y,Z, but only offers a brief hiatus to increased temperatures across the globe.

Hmmm. The year he died we got a rig up to his gold claim in an attempt to drill and prove his findings. The drill bit broke right away (friend’s rig, favor type thing) and he never did get to test his theory of the site.

His son was half-way interesting in pursuing the claim, but he let it lapse.

I’m hoping he did strike it rich.

The pastor at his funeral made a statement like “He may not have seemed like it to most people - but he was a saint.”

One of his buddies when speaking at the various microphones around the church available for brief comments and stories said “Well I’ve heard Fred called many things - but ‘Saint’ was never one of them!”

These are “scientists” funded by the global warming research industry.
