Pelosi has a message for Trump: 'Nothing for the wall'

Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi told NBC's "Today" show in an interview set to air Thursday that she will not provide President Donald Trump with the border wall funding he has demanded and shut down the government over.

Asked by NBC's Savannah Guthrie if she was willing to give up any money specifically for the border wall, Pelosi said "no."

"We can go through the back and forth," Pelosi said in a clip that aired on MSNBC on Wednesday. "No. How many more times can we say no? Nothing for the wall."

In this series The Speaker looked like she was in extreme distress.

I think the president must have told her in very plain language to go to hell bitch

He must have chastized her so badly she was clearly distressed beyond recovery

You are just plain wrong

Donald Trump is the de facto leader of the Republican party

That party is now working to Make America Great Again

Adherance to the anachnochrostic anti republican dogma is just foolish

One begins to wonder what that word means to her and if she’s using the same definition the rest of us are ?President Trump has proven time and again that he can handle anything that comes his way, and he’s not going to give into a senile dingbat over a paltry $5bil in US expenditure when he’s the damn President.

If she thinks ‘no’ because Mommy said so is going to win, its already a loser. If she thinks opening up what’s closed would in anyway motivate Trump or his Deplorables she’s already a loser. No one cares about opening The Royal Scam back up.

The FedGov spends $11,111,111,111 per day, $462 million per hour, 24 hours per day and it only goes up, never down. 10 hours of the 8,760 hours in a year. We’re talking about %0.0011. And she thinks becasue I said so ?

Shut down the military bases in CA.

Never give ground to your enemies. Make them come and take it!

It appears to me that Madam Pelosi has led her troops into a box canyon. Two reasons why this is going to backfire:

1) Trumps support remains strong, and we demand the wall

2) We do not care if the gov is shut down, in fact, we like when the gov is shut down.

“I think if you dragged the Army Corps of Engineers into this talk, they’d say at best...they can do maybe 400 to 500 miles of quality fencing per year.”

In the Rio Grande Valley, where you need massive levee wall, cost has been running around $24 million per mile. Along most of the border, costs run about $4-10 million per mile.

So 400 to 500 miles a year would be in the ballpark of $5 billion per year.

Some more money is needed for technology, added personnel, and operational costs. I think that adds up to roughly one third of the extra funding needed. So $5 billion would solidly fund the total program, well within the Corps of Engineers capacity to execute it.

I think Nancy Pelosi’s first, second and third highest concerns this week are securing her own position as Speaker.

She can’t afford to lose the votes of the new “Crazy Caucus” of bomb throwing socialists who are just coming in from the wild to sit in Congress for the first time. So she is pandering to them before the vote.

After she is Speaker, she has some gestures that they have planned to put forward (which they know will never be enacted), to provide political cover for them later (obfuscate that they are sabotaging border security).

Only after those political tasks are complete, can Pelosi really address the political problem of the shutdown, and how that may play out in public opinion. That is when she might start dealing. Maybe tomorrow.

Now, if there was a NYT study that gets spiked because it says the illegal vote will be overwhelming republican, Pelozi would be over to the White House offering $50 billion and asking if the steel slats could be aligned closer and made higher. Oh well, I can dream, can’t I?

McConnell stated that unless bills out of the House can muster 60 votes, they won’t make it to the Senate floor. NOW I understand why McConnell played the long-game and didn’t go simple majority on the $5B wall funding that the House sent the Senate last year.

McConnell basically neutered the entire House unless it’s a bill that will have Republican votes. Never thought I’d say this but, McConnell you are a genius.

Never give ground to your enemies. Make them come and take it!

The troops move to friendlier states and CA economy would take a huge hit. Leave the bases there with a few caretakers.

“their meeting lasted until they were about to hear the facts on the border arrests”

I think that was a big part of the strategy - get them on record as having been briefed on the threat, so they would be held accountable (politically) later, when disaster strikes because of lax security.

I believe the average is about 10 per day apprehended crossing illegally, with known terrorist ties.

Couldn’t we just use Nancy’s annual taxpayer funded bar tab and military jet expenses? That should cover it with a few bucks left over for the “Trump” sign.

Pelosi has to do what the socialist wing of the Dem. Party wants her to do, to even get elected again as speaker. She has sold her soul to socialist wing to be the leader. She must stand up to Trump and the Rep. Trump has said “no” as the President drawing the line in the sand. “Fund the border or I will sign nothing,” he should continue to stand tall. It is going to be a long 2 years of nothing for Pelosi but heart ache.

I suggest we start a movement called, “Tear Down the Walls.” It will pertain to all buildings with security, all doormen in private buildings, all solid or wrought iron fences over 6 feet high.

We’ll start in Hollywood, NYC and Chicago and branch out from there. In Hollywood, start with all industry people who support illegal immigration. We’ll act exactly like the Democrats and force them to live by the rules they set.

In other words, we need to go Alinsky on these people.

To do so, they have to throw blue collar workers and their African -American constituency under the bus

I don’t think so. They are too stupid and partisan. I don’t know one single democrat that has changed their mind. They hate Trump and that is all that matters to them.

I think Trump’s whole gameplan is to get them to agree to a 1.5 billion dollar 2019 Wall plan, and to guarantee in 2020 a similar amount

I’m not sure that is the game plan, as the Democrats were offering 1.8 billion this year. And what will secure the guarantee for 2020 from Speaker Pelosi?
