Dear Tigertones, please stop singing ‘Kiss The Girl’
Daily Princetonian ^ | Nov 26, 2018 | Noa Wollstein

Posted on 12/11/2018 11:00:57 PM PST by tom h

[T]he song “Kiss The Girl,” from the Disney hit “The Little Mermaid,” is more misogynistic and dismissive of consent than cute. By performing the song multiple times each semester, the Tigertones elevate it to an offensive and violating ritual ...

The premise ... is that the male Prince Eric, on a date with the beautiful female Ariel, should kiss her without asking for a single word to affirm her consent...

Lyrics such as ... “she won’t say a word/Until you kiss that girl,” unambiguously encourage men to make physical advances on women without obtaining their clear consent...

The song launches a heteronormative attack on women’s right to oppose the romantic and sexual liberties taken by men, further inundating the listener with themes of toxic masculinity ...

The singers reinforce the heteronormativity reflected in the words of the song ...

Noa Wollstein is a sophomore from Plainview, N.Y. She can be reached at noaw@princeton.edu.

It's hard to wonder, also, if such an angry girl isn't that way because no men want to come within 10 feet of her.

More likely she doesn't want men anywhere near her, only other women.

Feminism misleads young women. It encourages them to use their most attractive and fertile years establishing themselves in some career. By the time they’re 30, however, they discover that the great career is not what they really want. They no longer want the 60 hour work weeks with the endless competition and striving, and they start to think about establishing a family. By that point, however, their looks and fertility have declined. Feminism tells them that they can get married and have children after 30. It might be possible, but it’s far more difficult. (I’m female, by the way.)

I have to think that all this violation of biology can’t last long, because biology always wins. Feminism is a rigid ideology at war with nature, and it’s a shame that young women are taking on college debt in order to learn to be spinsters.

I'm actually surprised. She isn't unattractive. Just a Princeton brainwash, most likely

These feminist harpies seem to equate a simple kiss with something akin to violent rape or other criminal sexual assault. Relax, ladies.

Boys have been kissing girls for thousands of years and hopefully always will. The good thing about a simple “peck” is that he’s close enough for her to slap him, if such is her inclination. Millions of men over the ages have made that crucial Go/No-Go decision based ultimately upon her reaction to a single kiss.

Watch The Little Mermaid again. You obviously missed something.

Dear Tigertones:

Please Sing it LOUDER, and accompany it with a Giant Middle Finger in bold, manly defense of Heteronormality.

“...It’s hard to wonder, also, if such an angry girl isn’t that way because no men want to come within 10 feet of her...”

No men want to come within 10 feet of her BECAUSE she is that way...

Who comes up with such utter nonsense?

Being from Disney, I would think, “Go ahead, fella, and kiss the pre-pubescent male” would be a starting point.

FWIW, all the comments below the article at the source URL are negative toward the author. It would be nice if they were all from students but....probably unlikely.

As for posting an image, here is a link that will take you through the process:

https://www.htmlgoodies.com/primers/html/article.php/3478181

You can identify specific image coding by using the View Source function. For example, right click on the image below. Select View Source from the drop down menu. The HTML source box may open at the top of the article. That's potentially a lot of HTML text to hunt through, so you want to find some unique viewable text term(s) near the image to search for. In this case, I inserted a unique phrase for you to search. Use the Edit tab at the top left of the frame to find the following words "Banana Pudding." The block of HTML appearing after the search term is the coding I copied from the original poster above (probably all automatically generated when copied at the source) and pasted below to generate the image you see. The part you are interested is at the end and starts with starts with "src=."

Yes, cute! She’s just trying those ideas on for size. I imagine she’d love to be pursued by a guy.

grrrrrOWl... come on, baby.
You little vixen, you... ;-)

Seriesly though, she definitely has issues. The tell all is that she can’t bring her self to smile for a bio profile pic and she’s not even focused on the camera.

Kate Millett, founder of NOW, was an angry dyke (certifiably crazy too) who advocated lowering the age of consent so women could sexually prey on young girls.

“consent” is a vague concept to the Left.

How does she feel about “consent of the governed” to oppose following through on BRexit, or opposing the building of a wall along on our southern border?

She’s no doubt simultaneously embarrassed by her natural good looks and willing to use them to her advantage. If I am right it won’t take too many years for her outward appearance to reflect her inner attitudes.

>> It would be interesting to read articles about unwanted lesbian advances.

MeToo claims by women against women are largely suppressed but they happen. Often with alcohol or alcohol (date rape) but not exclusively.
