President Donald Trump announced on the White House South Lawn Friday morning that he will nominate William Barr as his next attorney general.
Barr served as attorney general previously under President George H. W. Bush.

He could do worse, I guess. It’s hard to believe Trump would fire Sessions just to appoint another lifetime Beltway lawyer.

Barr was probably the best U.S. AG since the Reagan administration. That’s not saying much, since most of them have been @ssholes. But it’s kind of remarkable that he’s been out of government for 25 years.
Trump took the easy path. Let’s hope Rosenstein’s replacement is not from the Establishment. Maybe Whitaker can be the deputy.

This is an unmitigated disaster, the very worst news I have seen in a long, long time.
Yep. Even worse, he goes back to the Bush/CIA drug-running and other corruption through Latin America back decades ago, then was Poppy’s last AG.
I mean, this guy sailed through confirmation back in ‘92 (never a good sign) and was publicly pushed by Graham this year.
This guy is a GHW Bush establishment guy and will not investigate any of the corruption during the last administration. They know if anyone takes an honest look at Hillary emails, Uranium One, Clinton Foundation and so much more it would open the door to discovery on Hillary, then her co-horts like Cheryl Mills, Loretta Lynch, Huma abbadabba-DIN and eventually, Obama.
No one is gonna let that happen. Corruption has won out.

They train you to give that convincing look at the CIA, where Barr comes from.
This is not good. The job is to clean the Deep State out of the DoJ and this guy couldn’t be more Deep State than he is. We are in serious trouble and everyone should be sounding the alarm. We need to pressure REPUBLICAN SENATORS to reject this choice.
