Cindy Hyde-Smith won because she’s run-of-the-mill: a white person ignorant of the blood in the soil – and for most voters, that’s forgivable

Faulkner’s home state of Mississippi, more than a half-century after his death, proved his point again on Tuesday night. Cindy Hyde-Smith, the Republican senator, prevailed in a heated runoff over his African-American opponent, Democrat Mike Espy . Hyde-Smith cements the Republicans’ 53-47 hold on the Senate, an important bulwark for conservatives against what was otherwise a blue wave.
Hyde-Smith won because there are far too many Republicans who support Donald Trump in the state of Mississippi and too few who could dare to choose a Democrat. Trump carried the state by 18 points. A Democrat has not won Mississippi since 1976.
..Absent all of that, Democrats will enter 2020 with a decent chance to take down Trump while facing a map that still poses serious challenges. Most gratifying for the right, Trump has another two years to ram through federal judges who need Senate approval.
He has already picked two supreme court justices. It’s not impossible to imagine he may even have a shot at another.
That’s democracy in America today – a contorted system that no longer reflects the will of the voters who endure its brutal consequences.

Democrats win = Democracy works. The people have spoken. We have a mandate.
Republicans win = Suppression of the vote. Racism. Become obstacles, block and overturn everything.

Republicans depend on Legal Votes, Democrats depend on any Votes, Legal or not. They have no respect for the Electoral System, Republicans do.

It’s a pain in the ass the way every damn minority who loses an election throws a tantrum and starts whining about “racism”. Those whineyass babies need to learn to grow up. They skated with the race card long enough.
Democrats: “We regret that the white Republican Hyde-Smith won but at least Roe vs Wade has not yet been overturned. So we can continue to exterminate black babies. And there are so many to kill here in Mississippi!”
That sentiment has been replaced with, “Your skin color is your uniform.”

Love it when the “media” bring up reconstruction days when Mississippi had black members of both chambers of Congress but forget to mention they were Republicans.
Name ONE ISSUE in this campaign.
The only issue, which was manufactured by the Democratic Media Complex, was that of a racist white woman championing Mississippis' racist past verses a deserving black man whose political time has come.

the guardian is a great paper for conservatives to read. Just like the huffpost. if the guardian or huffpost are for or against something, the correct approach is the opposite. Similarly, I know when they predict something, the opposite will happen. Wonderful paper that way!
