'She was incapable of knowing the killing was morally and legally wrong,' judge says

Rohinie Bisesar has been found not criminally responsible for a fatal stabbing at a Shoppers Drug Mart in downtown Toronto at an emotional court appearance Tuesday.

Bisesar, 43, had pleaded not guilty of first-degree murder in connection with the attack on a stranger in December 2015.

Rosemarie Junor, a newlywed, died in hospital days after being stabbed in the heart while browsing at a makeup counter on a break from her job as an ultrasound technician.

Rosalind Junor, Rosemarie's mother, wore a T-shirt with a picture of the 28-year-old and the words "in loving memory." Family members and friends who read victim impact statements said Rosemarie was a beautiful, joyful young woman, and that their lives haven't been the same without her.

Crown, defence agree woman accused of Shoppers Drug Mart stabbing not criminally responsible Friends, family mourn stabbing victim Rosemarie Junor Ontario Superior Court Justice John McMahon said there was "overwhelming" evidence that Bisesar has schizophrenia, which led to the killing.

"I am satisfied on a balance of probabilities that Rohinie Bisesar suffered from a mental disorder, schizophrenia, when she took this woman's life," McMahon said.

"Because of the schizophrenia, she was incapable of knowing the killing was morally and legally wrong."

If you suffer from schizophrenia and would prefer to not take your medication, and then kill people, come to Canada. We are now the home of multiple schizophrenic murders who freely walk our streets.

Including Will Baker (formerly known as Vince Li) who walks the streets today and has walked them since February 2017, despite the fact that he beheaded a passenger on a greyhound bus in 2008. Oh... And juicy missing fact... He began eating the headless passenger.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-02-12/freedom-granted-to-man-who-beheaded-bus-passenger-in-canada/8262772

Ms. Bisesar will likely change her name and will be walking the streets in no time, and if you're at a drug store and see her there... Qu'est-ce que c'est ? fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better Run run run run run run run away

Because if you have schizophrenia you can clearly be depended upon to take your pills.

Put away in Psych for life, that’s for sure.

Prison? I don’t know. I’m not smart enough.

I’ll tell you one think.

When I had depression after my pop died, I was about 15.

The psychiatrist gave me a script for Nardil, and MAOI, and A LIST OF DOZENS AND DOZENS OF FOODS AND DRINKS THAT WOULD CAUSE A STROKE IF I ATE THE FOOD WHILE TAKING THIS PILL!!

So you give a semi suicidal person a pill and then the list of foods to commence suicide with or at least roll the dice with.

I hope those pills are banned now that SSRI and SNRIs are available.

Good thing nobody shot this unfortunate soul. The shooter would still be in prison, yes?

Case dismissed.

If a person is incapable of knowing right from wrong given a mental condition, that person MUST not be allowed to roam freely in Society.

Either Institutionalize them or force a care giver to monitor the person 24/7. If they fail to take required medication to curb condition-lock them up.

I hope they put her in a locked facility for the criminally insane for the rest of her life, and that when she leaves it is in a body bag.

When you have a very low crime rate, there is a tendency to let criminals off the hook based on the most flimsy justification.

Lock the schizophrenic people up, seems to be the solution they’re nudging towards.

I agree with a lot of what you said but how OFTEN is it that a person with this illness kills somebody?

We throw up an article and we’re ready to incarcerate any Schizophrenic who doesn’t take their medication.

I don’t believe for a SECOND that this person NEVER showed violent tendencies before.

And once you show violent tendencies, I agree with EVERYTHING you wrote.

I know that you think that’s absurd because it will be after the fact.

But I dont think the first violent action is going to be a murder.

If you show unusual hostility without your meds and don’t take them, into psych you go for good.

Years ago, Georgia changed this law to Guilty but Insane. They go to a state mental hospital for the criminally insane, not back on the street.

What is Rohinie Besesar’s birthplace and immigration history?
Was she a dangerous schizophrenic when taken in as a refugee?

MAO Inhibitors are not banned. I managed to take them only a few days while in college because of fears about the side effects. Worried about the thin slice of cheese in a cheeseburger, which was ridiculous. I should have continued. The severe dietary side effects are actually limited to particular types of cheese, etc., and are probabilities, not certainties.

I pushed the envelope WAYYYYY TOOO FAR!!

Had a stroke finally at 37 :(

And it was an accident!!

Other times it was semi suicidal rolling of the dice.

THIS NIGHT i ordered an american beer which you know has no tyramine, the deadly substance that MAOIs prohibit your body from breaking down.

I ordered german beer and only FOUR later, I voided myself in both ways, fell, suffered a thalamic stroke and my life has never been the same.

You DID THE RIGHT THING.

There’s SO MUCH out there that won’t kill you with 3 glasses of red wine!!

BTW, i know a person that works in a morgue and only on STATEN ISLAND with 500,000 people, she says she sees ONE death a MONTH from that.

It’s much more widespread than people know, getting sick from it.

That’s how they found out!!

People dropping dead in France when it came out!!

“Judge” John McMahon is clearly just as, if not more so, impaired-and by his own choice and volition-chooses not to distinguish right from wrong.

From the end of the news article:

“Bisesar will remain at a secure women’s forensic unit at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health following today’s court appearance.

The Ontario Review Board, which decides if and how not criminally responsible patients should be detained, will determine what happens to Bisesar in the future.”

Sounds like the Canadian government knows how dangerous she is and is ensuring the murderer serves an indefinite period of confinement.
