Democrats first choice was to run Kasich as an idependant against President Trump - hoping he could split the vote.
But now that they know how unpopular Kasich is within the party - they want him to play a ‘John McCain’ role - someone who can be counted on to trash his own party AND his President.
If Kasich left the party he would lose the power of trashing "from within" the party... So the fake letters Kasich receives from democrat war rooms (disguised as letters from constituents) will continue to support him doing what dems need him to do - which for now is "stay in the party and trash from within" ... My guess.

Better question is what is it with the GOP in the mid west. The current GOP governor of Illinois might as well be a Democrat. Two House Speakers, Hastert and Bohner were obviously compromised men. Hastert who was a shambling joke was obviously chosen because his coaching indiscretions were widely known on the Beltway backchannel. Now Kasich who looks like another Bohner, a compromised hack. Kasich is a flatulent glutton (really) not a drunk as was (and I guess still is Bohner) but both habits indicate something seriously wrong with the individuals personality. So what gives with the Midwest GOP?

Kasich wants so very badly to be a Democrat/Leftist. Only problem is the Democrat/Left won’t have him with all of his “white male privilege” etc., etc., etc.

In OH, I haven't heard one Republican candidate say he's endorsed by Kasick. It would be poison.
Dems could have a good year in OH. If swing voters worry about the prospect of mob rule + the potential for lost gun rights + dems will let criminals out of jail, that would help 'pubs.
The campaigning is so nasty that it makes one wish "none of the above" were on the ballot.

Yeah, well, think again.
By the way.. why would anyone want to be unified with the Swamp Dwellers and their followers?

All I know about Kasich is he is a perfect example of what happens to a politician who is gay but gets married for political expediency.

Kasich’s personality reminds me he is the combination of these 3 characters from The Wizard of Oz:
The Scarecrow
The Cowardly Lion
The Tin Man
all these 3 characters in one person: KASICH

He is a closeted self-loathing defeatist. He fit right in with the RINO party, but not so much the Republican party.

Kasick is both full of crap and delusional.
In order for the RATS to win the House, they have to run the table and literally win each and every toss up district.
That is NOT going to happen.
In fact, there are a number of districts currently held by the dems that are increasingly looking like a flip from dem to GOP....in Minnestoa, New Hampshire and yes, even in California, amongst other states.
Don’t start measuring for curtains just yet, crazy Nancy.

Is he ever right? About anything? He actually makes me feel better about Republican chances next month.
