After a brief lull, the hot summertime trend of protesting politicians over dinner is back in full force. Last night, a group of protesters tracked down Senator Ted Cruz and his wife at an Italian spot in D.C. and confronted him over Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court until the senator was forced to leave.
The restaurant in question has been identified as Fiola, an exceedingly pricey restaurant, which Washington Post restaurant critic Tom Sietsema has called “the most glamorous place in the city to twirl pasta.” But conservatives and supporters of Senator Cruz don’t feel the same way apparently, and have taken to Fiola’s Yelp page to voice their displeasure with a string of one-star reviews.

Come by my house for some fantastic pasta and a definitely friendly atmosphere! Those jagoffs blew their load and there will be a red wave this fall. But come on by for some good Chicago pasta!

The “Progressives” have developed a system (perhaps an Ap?) where they ‘birddog’ Conservatives.
When Leftists’ Activists spot their ‘prey’ in public, they send out a notice who, where, when and they converge and ‘protest’.
Stunning how the door to exit was jammed or locked, and the waiter had to screw with it to get Ted and Heidi out of there.
Thought for a moment that the help were going to let the nasty crowd follow them outside, on the streets, with no protection. Cowards would have probably locked the door and let a riot take place against the Cruz’. Could have killed them.

When confronted by an angry mob of "protestors" the correct action is to immediately get out of the kill zone. That goes double if you have a spouse or others you want to protect.
Forcible response against a mob only works if you have weapons - and friends with weapons to back you.
Cruz had none of these available when he was ambushed at the restaurant. He made the right call.
Yes the "protestors" won this round. There will be more rounds to come, and they will win those too under the present "rules-of-engagement". If we are ever to win, it must become very unsafe for the Leftists to keep attacking.
These high profiled office holders in DC have got to buy a clue that it is no longer safe to behave like a no-name and go to an upscale restaurant unguarded, just because you’re “you”. No officer on duty, or no personal body guard, it’s best to hire one, or stay home and order out, until you have some modicum of protection.
Does anyone realize how irreversibly bad this has become? I blame the Republican Elite who are much too full of themselves to realize that if they desert their base the nation is lost.
If they take reservations everyone should call and make reservations for like 3 weeks out on their business nights. Completely book the place so no one else can get in and then no one shows.

Conservatives should know by now not to eat out in the DC area. Time to ban all area restaurants. After two weeks of half their customers, restaurants will close their doors or hire security for ALL paying customers.
