Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, has agreed to testify before the Senate next week, her lawyer said Saturday.
The exact terms and timing of her testimony remain unclear, as negotiations between Ford's lawyers and staff for the Senate Judiciary Committee remain ongoing.
Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) had given Ford's lawyers until Saturday afternoon to decide on whether she would proceed with testifying.
An email from Ford's lawyers sent to the Judiciary Committee shortly before a 2:30 p.m. deadline said Ford had accepted the panel's "request to provide her first-hand knowledge of Brett Kavanaugh's sexual misconduct next week."
The email didn't specifically say that Ford was agreeing to a Wednesday hearing date, which is what the Judiciary Committee has proposed.
And Debra Katz, Ford's lawyer, noted that they still need to work out an "agreement on the details."
Both sides have been wrangling over the exact day and conditions for Ford's testimony.
Ford has accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her at a high school party in the early 1980s.
Kavanaugh has flatly denied the allegations and said he would appear for a hearing next week.

Listening to Fox. They agreed to Ford appearing based on further discussion of terms. This is simply negotiating and not an acceptance. In fact, they note the letter criticizes the committee. Insulting. Will Grassley say No and put an end to the sham?
The devil is in the details?
She has said she will testify on Thursday IF she can get fair terms which they are still negotiating this afternoon. So basically they announced the very same thing they had offered Kavanaugh bedore. An “if I get my way, and if I don’t, I tried.”
Kavanaugh must testify last. Otherwise this inquiry is kaput.
Grassley may be playing this brilliantly. He may even let this run all the way to Election Day ... and not out of incompetence or weakness, either.
This whole issue is completely removed from the Democrats as a political weapon as long as Christine Buzzy Ford stalls the process indefinitely. In fact, she's doing great damage to the Democrats as we sit here now.
If this process drags on and: (1) Ford doesn't show up to testify; and (2) the confirmation vote is held up indefinitely while goobers like Flake and Corker keep saying "we must hear from her" ... then Christine Buzzy Ford can't make any media appearances to tell her fake story in a venue that doesn't expose her to perjury charges.
They've probably got taped interviews of her all lined up -- produced by the Democrat propaganda machine and ready to be shown on 60 Minutes, the Today show, Loser Holt's Dateline NBC, etc. She's had extensive cosmetic surgery, cries on cue, and puts on a good show. They probably have about four hours of video clips, which they prepared for the purpose of putting no more than the best 20 minutes on the air.
But they can only put it out to attack Kavanaugh AFTER he is confirmed ... and they can't put it out AT ALL if she testifies under oath.
Grassley has been played for the fool.
Nothing good will come out of this.

This is the same response for the media. Grassley needs to say... no she did not agree. If Grassley breaks I’m done with them. I will show up to vote but otherwise they can kiss my ass.
Correct! They have agreed that she want to buy the car, not what she will pay for it or what options and terms will be. Just silly.
