The Most Important Election in 222 Years

In 1796, America under George Washington enjoyed peace and prosperity unforeseen by even the most optimistic Founders. The election of 1796 was arguably the most important in the nation's history because it represented our first true transfer of power. Many had urged Washington to be king. Instead, he willingly gave his power back to the people, who then placed it into the hands of our second president, John Adams. Though Adams beat Thomas Jefferson by a mere three electoral votes – and won just 71 out of 276 cast – thoughts of monarchy were forgotten, and America was set on a course it maintained for the next 204 years.

The presidential election of 2000 established a new paradigm, where the winner of the contest was considered illegitimate by a large part of the opposition. Ditto 2004 and 2016. Though the effort to de-legitimize President Bush was interrupted by 9/11, the new paradigm appears fixed: Democrat winners are as American as apple pie, and Republican winners are cheaters. The peaceful transfer of power is no longer a given.

As troubling as the new paradigm is, it is just another convenient political gambit for the irresponsible left. The prominence of the new paradigm should alarm every freedom-loving American. If unchecked, in time, it will force a breaking point. It also speaks to a palpable division that goes beyond anything we've seen since at least the Civil War. Politics is no longer the art of reasonable compromise; it has become an exercise in grudging, chafing tolerance, with one side consumed by a passionate hatred for the other side – a spreading hatred that threatens to consume both sides. America is at a tipping point, and the 2018 elections will likely determine which direction we take for a generation or more.

That would have been the election of 1800, when power actually was transferred from one party to another.

The presidential election of 2000 established a new paradigm, where the winner of the contest was considered illegitimate by a large part of the opposition. Ditto 2004 and 2016.

Ditto 2008 and 2012? Birtherism? The idea that the elected president isn't legitimate, has been building for some time. The last time nobody regarded the president as illegitimate may have been 1996, or 1988 or even 1984.

As long as we have a well-developed Cadre of people who detest America, and want to see her destroyed, every election from now until the dim reaches of the future will be the most important election ever held.

Bottom Line of the commentator is that we, the people and voters in the USA have one opportunity, one chance, one shot, in this approaching critical path election to either preserve this wonderful American Republic or to choose the complete destruction of all we hold dear, as the greatest nation the world has ever seen.

The key to survival of the USA Republic and its freedoms is Voting. It is as simple and basic as that action. Support your country, support your POTUS, Trump, support all GOP Candidates, defeat every single Democrat running for office, save your nation, Go, MAGA, Go, USA Republic!!! Vote on election day or before.

From 2016 on every election is the most important election since the Founding. We are not the Republic of the 19th century. Too many city people with no concept of independence. The Republic is dead. We are currently fighting over the corpse. That makes every election paramount. Unfortunately we only have to lose one because, thus far, there is no indication that the Right is ready or inclined to Take Command which is the future of the nation. Any taking of power by election by the Left, be they Progressives or Stalinists, will now be the final peaceful election. We have been voting effectively for the candidate from Our Tribe since the turn of the century. At some point in the near future, maybe the very near future, Our Guy has to be Caesar or the Communists will take permanent control. We have several historical precedents to inform us of how things go after that. The choice will be, perhaps in my lifetime(I am 72), between our Maximum Leader and their NeoStalin. When we get the Stalin it is over. Perhaps Donald Trump can buy us some time. I don't see it happening because with this great economy the voters stop worrying about their paychecks and start voting on good hair and feel-good issues, i.e. for communists and yes, they are communists now. There is not much pretense when they call themselves Democratic Socialists.

I am not advocating this stuff because it is the end whichever way it goes. At least with a Rightist ruler we avoid the gulag and the show trials and some prosperity will continue for a time. When you have to depend on the Leader, though, that first one may be salvation but there will inevitably come the incompetents and the sadists and the fools.I hope it can be put off for a couple of decades.

AND nothing for the good changes - until 2016 - to help us out from under the bushes-clintons-obamas YET these ‘modern’ day types have absolutely NO open class - I am sure, in private since the late GW someone has complained about his predecessor(I wanted to ‘change’ this but they wouldn’t let me) and his successor (I certainly wouldn’t have done it that way (OBVIOUSLY LOSER, you just didn’t even TRY to do it).

Stop kidding ourselves, they dont want to win. If they had built a wall we wouldnt be having an article like this. All of those chuck n nancy deals, no wall and no repeal of Obamacare.
