How can a Pope resign?

The same way JP I "resigned".

I am inclined to believe Vigano's allegations, but he has this in his own background: Vatican ambassador sought to bury Nienstedt misconduct, documents say

I would love to ask these perverts this question: Do you know what happened to two cities by the name of “Sodom and Gomorrah?”

"I’m very upset that Abp Vigano’s letter seems very resistant to being published in any readable form.."

I wonder if homosexuality will cause schism in the Church?

Shouldn’t, but you just never know. Especially in the current environment.

as I read all this, it would appear that McCarrick brought down Pope Benedict-probably because Benedict did to McCarrick exactly what Francis has just done.

read it again because it looks like while Benedict had diciplined McCarrick, underlings did not carry it out and Francis knew McCarrick was a predator/scoundrel but reinstated him. If true, Pope Francis should resign.

In the letter it explicitly states that Pope Francis does not like Archbishop Chaput and made it known.

"I was astounded! It was therefore clear that the words of reproach that Pope Francis had addressed to me on June 21, 2013 had been put into his mouth the day before by Cardinal McCarrick. Also the Pope’s mention “not like the Archbishop of Philadelphia” could be traced to McCarrick, because there had been a strong disagreement between the two of them about the admission to Communion of pro-abortion politicians. In his communication to the bishops, McCarrick had manipulated a letter of then-Cardinal Ratzinger who prohibited giving them Communion. Indeed, I also knew how certain Cardinals such as Mahony, Levada and Wuerl, were closely linked to McCarrick; they had opposed the most recent appointments made by Pope Benedict, for important posts such as Philadelphia, Baltimore, Denver and San Francisco."

It figures.   (That's probably why he hasn't been named a Cardinal yet, even though he's the Archbishop of a major metropolitan area Archdiocese, and they seem to always be named to the College of Cardinals, at least in the recent past.)

It's hard to believe there are so many "bad guys" among the Cardinals in America. They all seem to gang up on the good guys, who simply want to follow the traditional, orthodox teachings of the Catholic Church, like Archbishop Chaput. (His only deviation, that I can see, is his support of illegal immigration, which directly contradicts the Church teaching in Catechism paragraph 2241, which clearly states that immigrants must obey the laws of the country that are immigrating to.)

Just e-mailed this (In MS Word Document form), along with a link to the Diocesan source document, to every Catholic on my e-mail list.

These sodomite bastards - and their enablers - need to be ripped out by the roots, and burned on a massive pyre.

The Church should bring back the capital punishment of burning at the stake.

Oh, but wait ... The sodomite-enabling Pope, Francis, changed Catholic teaching about capital punishment. How strangely convenient.
