John McCain, the longtime senator and 2008 GOP presidential candidate who refused to leave fellow prisoners of war behind to escape years of torture in Vietnam, and whose maverick streak as Arizona’s senior statesman at times frustrated fellow Republicans and confounded President Donald Trump, has died, his family confirmed in a statement Saturday.
He was 81and had been diagnosed with brain cancer in July 2017.
McCain had decided to discontinue medical treatment for the glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, his family announced on Aug. 24. He had surpassed expectations for his survival, but "the progress of disease and the inexorable advance of age render their verdict," the statement said.

Well, he and John Kerry had to lie and declare there were no POW’s or remains or MIA’s left over there because if their were the embargo couldn’t be lifted.

Agree with every word. Often wonder what our Founding Fathers were thinking when they limited the Presidency, but NOT the Senate or the Congress!?

My 32 year old son served this country in Iraq when he was 22 and I still bust his chops everyday and that’s just because he was late for work not because he left POW’s in Vietnam, or ripped off a bank or cuddled up to ISIS. GFY.
