George Will: Vote against GOP in midterms
The Hill ^ | 06/22/18 | Justin Wise

Posted on 06/22/2018 2:57:01 PM PDT by yesthatjallen

Conservative columnist George Will is making the argument to vote against Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections.

In a piece published Friday in the Washington Post, Will says that President Trump's "zero tolerance" policy at the border was "the most telegenic example of misrule" and it provided “fresh if redundant evidence for the principle by which” independents and moderate Republicans should vote.

That principle he says is that the number of Republicans in office must be “substantially reduced.”

"The principle: The congressional Republican caucuses must be substantially reduced. So substantially that their remnants, reduced to minorities, will be stripped of the Constitution’s Article I powers that they have been too invertebrate to use against the current wielder of Article II powers," Will wrote. "They will then have leisure time to wonder why they worked so hard to achieve membership in a legislature whose unexercised muscles have atrophied because of people like them."

Will targets House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and many other Republican lawmakers for serving as the "president’s poodles."

"Not because James Madison’s system has failed but because today’s abject careerists have failed to be worthy of it," Will added. "Congressional Republicans (congressional Democrats are equally supine toward Democratic presidents) have no higher ambition than to placate this president."

ETC...

George Will knows better than this. He knows what we are seeing is a continuation of Obama’s and probably Bush’s policies as well. But his hatred of Trump is so strong that he is willing to lie to his readers.

Useless lump of flesh.

I’m not thrilled to pieces that the policy suddenly changed on people who didn’t know... if in fact that was the case. Not thrilled to pieces. But I don’t know how else we would have gotten scatter-brained America to look at the fact that Congress wasn’t giving us anything sane. The families that really are families will likely be reunited soon, quietly, out of the spotlight.

Will has finally taken off his disguise and revealed himself for what he truly is-—a retromingent deep state elitist whose only goal is to have his opinion loved and adored by the statists. Trump broke through his charade. FU Will, you bastard!!!!

George Will passed his sell date a long time ago.

He is trying desperately trying to “be relevant” and get noticed.

George Will betrays any degree of principle he may have formerly embodied with his blatant dishonesty and fallacious arguments waged against President Trump.

It's as though he's never heard or read a word constitutional scholars Professors' Alan Dershowitz or Johnathan Turley have uttered or written on the very same subjects Will has weakly and dishonestly ought to address.

I could probably summon a little respect for Will had he merely admitted he is guided solely by his envy and hatred for President Trump, which renders him no different from the likes of Madcow, Scarborough and the rest of the screeching haters on the Left.

Will is a very paleo paleoconservative.

A mover and shaker like Donald isn’t in his worldview.

Will is irrelevant, and he knows it. Bow-tied beltway snotball just lashing out like Kristol and the rest of the swells. They are so jealous of President Trump it’s driving them bat crap crazy.

I am so tired of being the world’s provider. Where is it written that we must endure and also pay for the invasion of our own country? I am tired of watching my own kids working two jobs to afford a decent life for their families as my husband did before them.

I am tired of being called Nazi, racist, fascist etc., because I want my country to maintain our distinct culture.

I have zero sympathy for anyone coming here illegally. We provide their corrupt governments with a safety valve. As long as they can send their unemployable poor north they never have to change anything in their own countries to better their people and we pay them foreign aid as well.

Enough.

Lost me when he thought Bush or Baker was a better alternative than Reagan in 1980.

America always had room for players, and it still should. The idea of a plethora of parasites is relatively new.

I think we could well have different programs for different places. Why don’t we have military schools for Guatemalan kids that don’t know what to do with themselves, for example.
