That would be the ultimate boondoggle. If he does that, they will know they can beat him down with pressure anytime he does something they don't like. Things will go right back to large numbers of people taking advantage of catch and release bringing children illegally across the border on dangerous journeys, abusing the asylum laws, and more child trafficking. This is exactly what the Democrats want by the way. They don't care about the consequences open borders have on kids such as those being trafficked, unaccompanied minors, smugglers, etc. They don't want to fix anything. They want status quo. Schumer is demanding Trump do this.
It would be an embarrassment for the White House which first of all has handled this poorly from a communications perspective. If this is your policy, you know it is going to get a reaction like this. You should have an A game communications department ready to set the narrative. Instead, Trump did not do a good job articulating it by just blaming the Democrats without explanation. The only person that explained it well was Neilson, but that was days too late when everyone from Trump to his surrogates should have been sticking to that explanation. Meanwhile, the communication's staff continues to allow the narrative to be out there that Trump put's kids in cages when he's using the same facilities that Obama used. No one has even bothered to put out comparison photos. Trump should have Tweeted them.
The best way to handle this - sign the Ted Cruz bill. Support it and vote on it. This will end the catch and release loophole, will add more judges, and keep the families together. I know they want comprehensive reform, but the Cruz Bill deals with a specific problem and can end this situation. It will end the bad PR with midterms coming up, and the kids will be happy. Work on everything else after.
Trump really needs to do an address to the nation free of media spin on the immigration crisis too.
He has to do something. The RATS are killing him with this narrative and it is working in their favor.
The separations are needed.
With many of the children being brought by non-relative adults for the express purpose of gaining US entry, having the children separated from the adults until DNA testing can establish parentage is a excellent and well thought out strategy.
This is not a crisis of children separated from parents.
This is a crisis of leftists using propaganda rather than laws, common sense, or truth to get both their globalist goals enacted and ALSO fool the hearts and minds of the Gullibles.
And if they can do this to America, the rest of the world is just gravy.

We know she doesn’t believe illegals are a problem, so I gather The Big Beautiful Wall must be polling well.
Trump should give the parents the choice. Keep your kids with you as you go to an adult prison or let them stay in a safe clean facility with other kids.

The Democrats aren’t killing him per say, but it is motivating their base. Trump seems to be pretty good at handling problems like this though ... and the end result is the “motivated base” having their hope crushed (I’m sure many of them are completely pissed about the prospects of peace in Korea).
My suggested solution is to hand out the addresses of various Democrat politicians and media supporters of illegal immigration, and tell these migrants they can go live at this address.
I suspect after about a week there would be much reduced opposition to the concept of enforcing the law.
This could start the slippery slope of creating outrage on other issues and expecting Trump to cave.

The EO needed is to cease taking any asylum applications on US soil unless the applicant has entered LEGALLY. Make them go to a US embassy or consulate in their home country or in Mexico and apply.
Breaking the left’s latest anti-Trump hobbyhorse via EO is fine with me, shut them up and move on with the business of MAGA, but loudly point out that it’s an Obama administration holdover policy that’s being changed.
I saw a poll that the wall wasn’t polling with a majority, but that’s why Trump needs to give an address to the nation and have the border patrol speak at it to tell the public why they need it.

Trump must sense that he is losing the PR battle on this. I think he might be. Every media outlet on the planet is carrying the left-wing spin on the issue. This is a bigger character assassination effort than what took down the Tea Party movement.
..... That way the subject will fizzle before the fall election and Trump would then be on Offense. The Democrats will be left bickering amongst themselves trying to take credit ... It could be quite fun to watch.
