Republican U.S. Senate candidate Leah Vukmir is out with her first TV ad of the campaign Monday and it will sure gain some attention. Sitting at her kitchen table, with her handgun by her side, Vukmir discusses death threats she received during the acrimonious state debates, such as Act 10 legislation. "Ever have someone threaten your life for what you believe in? I have," Vukmir, a state Senator from Brookfield, says in the ad. "When Scott Walker and I beat the union bosses, cut billions in taxes and defunded Planned Parenthood, the left couldn't take it," she says. "With President Trump, we can do the same in Washington. Standing on principle takes guts. I know what it takes." Vukmir and Delafield businessman Kevin Nicholson will meet in an Aug. 14 primary, with the winner taking on Democratic U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin in the fall. Reacting to the ad, Brad Bainum, a Democratic Party spokesman, said: "Leah Vukmir has spent her entire career in Madison selling out our state's working families in order to enrich corporate special interests and the big donors bankrolling her campaign,"

Here’s wishing she can shove Tammy Baldwin out of there!

She was a stalwart during the occupation of the Capitol building and riots against Walker. The only thing Baldwin has done is serve as Senator while being a lesbian.

Those ‘big corporations’ referred to have been in Madison for years.

I graduated from High School in May of 1957. In August, after working the summer at a N Wisconsin lodge. I did NOT go to the Univ of Wis because my Mother & I could NOT agree on my major. I bailed out of the registration. I went to work at KROGER Divisional warehouse-—I think on Sherman Way. Worked as a comptometer operator, rechecking hand written invoices of items delivered directly to the stores, such as bread. -—LONG before computers.

I also worked at Oscar Mayer—in the accounting room at the Kill Deck- where farmers brought in their own livestock in smaller groups.

RAY O Vac was there them, I don’t know if it still is.

Gisholt Machine was there-—a very large physical presence. They got pushed out, but there were many machinist jobs there.

Sub-Zero was also in Madison. Don’t know where they are now.

The idea from all these idiots that you can have a vibrant economy & jobs with real $$$—(Madison is a VERY EXPENSIVE place to live) and that can be one with ONLY Mom & Pop stores is beyond stupid.

I left Wisconsin in 1964, but Madison then still was pretty Conservative. Now-—I couldn’t go back under any circumstances.

Sadly, she speaks the truth about the “progressive” left. Hate is their fuel, their blood, their life, and they frankly don’t mind if people die to achieve their narrow little objectives. Progressives lack compassion and tolerance. Their self-aggrandizement is all that matters.

Nice...I would like to know a bit on Nicholson, but I like her ad. I might have to have the ConservaTeen PAC donate money to her...heck, my 16 month old cousin might do a better job than Tammy the Les...

Oscar Meyer is closed down.

Rayovac has it’s corporate HQ here. No production in Madistan.

Sub-Zero/Wolf is still operating, and advertising for job seekers.

Gisholt Machine(?). IDK

But you are correct, Madistan and Dane county are generally expensive. I pay more property tax every year and services decrease. fees for everything.

I avoid the city as much as possible, and am actively looking to leave this area for more conservative part of the state.

Nicholson is trying to use his military service as a lever to break into Wisconsin politics. BUT, he’s lived in another state until recently. His family gave heavy money to Hillary and to Tammy Baldwin. He was head of the Young Democrats when in college.

He’s spoken to my local Republican Club several times, and he comes off as angry. He yells at us. Everybody I know is supporting Leah. She’s pro-life and tough as nails in a good way.

When she was first elected to the Wisconsin Legislature (she’s been in both the Assembly and the Senate) another Republican Legislator told her that she’d never get anywhere by voting with the Conservatives. She stood her ground and has been a force ever since.

Wisconsin Democrat Senators called her unforgivable names to her face before they ran away to Illinois during the Act 10 controversy. The entire Democrat Senate packed up and left the state to avoid voting on the various measures. And the Republican Senators were subjected to unbelievable harassment on a daily basis in Madison. They had to be escorted by armed guards to and from the capital.
