The White House appears poised for a fight over its policy of separating migrant families who cross the border illegally, even as a growing number of lawmakers are voicing concerns about the practice.
Democrats and some Republicans have in recent days visited facilities used to house separated family members, leading to new questions about the process and growing calls for the so-called "zero tolerance" policy to end.
GOP Sens. Jeff Flake (Ariz.) and Susan Collins (Maine) wrote to the Departments of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services on Saturday asking for clarity on the administration's practice of separating migrant families.
The letter cites multiple instances where families seeking asylum were separated, despite the administration's assurances that wasn't the case. The senators asked for details on when children are separated from their parents, what the purpose of doing so is, and how many children have been separated during the asylum claim process.
"It is critical that Congress fully understands how our nation’s laws are being implemented on the ground, especially when the well-being of young children is at stake," the senators wrote.

PDJT is enforcing immigration law passed by the Democrats. Obama himself separated children from their families and then launched DACA.The democrats actually advetized DACA to maximize an exodus of young people from South America and Mexico.
Now the Dems are caterwauling about the enforcement of immigration laws they themselves passed. Maybe the idiots and the “progressive” Republicans can get together they reach critical mass and actually support the Republican initiative to reform immigration law as a package.
But the fact is that the Dems and Progressive Republican RINOs would sooner make a lot of noise than accomplish anything substantive involving “ Let’s make a deal.”

To do that, the current RAT-written law allowing a “hearing for asylum” needs to go. 99% of the time an “asylum claim” is a ruse designed to allow the illegals to simply “disappear” into our country. All this “bringing them out of the shadows” should mean we round them up and mass deport them.
No, there isn’t any “growing outcry,” there is just bleating from desperate Democrats still searching (in mid June) for a single issue let alone a winning issue. Go away The Hill and try again.

‘Coincidentally’ timed to make sure every liberal votes in November. It is their only chance to get any votes. They have no substance, nobody who can run on their ticket, no ticket beyond Socialism - good for the ‘gimmes’ but not regular voters; and no members beyond those who cannot legally vote.

one, They only become asylum seekers when they get caught here illegally. Two if they want asylum don’t walk /ride/fly/take a camel here from your country, go to the US embassy and ask for asylum.
