Please watch the video below with the sound on mute. Did any of you actually think it was North Korean propaganda? Probably none of you did. And of course any person being completely truthful would also have the same opinion whether they also watched it on mute or in any other language including Korean. One dead giveaway is the satellite image of North Korea at night with almost no lights contrasted seconds later with a possible future North Korea covered in bright lights.
Despite this, Washington Post reporter Avi Selk went through the pretense on Tuesday that some reporters, upon first viewing the video in Korean, somehow thought it was North Korean propanda. And what are the chances that those same reporters are hostile to President Donald Trump? How about a 100% chance? They very well knew it wasn't North Korean propaganda but by pretending that was their impression it gave them a disingenuous outlet for their hostility.

Every journey begins with one step.
Of course, we could just turn our backs on the whole thing, because it’s just too difficult...but thankfully, our President doesn’t think that way.
I don’t think that the powerhouse of South Korea thinks that way, either :-)
Ad admission, I think, that reporters are becoming stupider and stupider. No one I know who went to a school other than a school of journalism, thought this.
Aw sure it was propaganda but it was oh so true too.
Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahaha !
No, he'll get the lion's share, his few supporters will get something, but the people won't get much of anything. THAT'S HOW THESE THINGS WORK; NO MATTER THE NATION! Look at Cuba, Venezuela, etc.!
To even get where China is now, will take generations, if it happens at all.
Kim's eyes have now really been opened! And yes, he absolutely yearns for new "toys"; not to mention being seen as "modern", now.
It's a start.
The thing is, that Trump isn't wee barry, either of the Bushes, nor Clinton...the ONLY history that his family has had in recent times, with American presidents.
Though I was a little kid during the Korean War, I DO remember a lot of it ( my mother had already started me on the path of being a news & political "junkie" by having me watch the news ) and we had newspaper drives at school, to support that war. I have NO idea just WHY we were asked to bring in old newspapers, but we were.
Okay, fast forward some....
His grandfather was, when he was alive and still is looked at as some kind of demi-god; so is his father, but NOT quite the same way.
Part of Trump's lure, is the idea that somehow, with modernization, without China doing it, Kim Jong Un hopes that he will rise in his people's eyes as something GREAT, perhaps greater than his father...which is better for him to contemplate than utter destruction, which is the only other alternative.
Will he try his best to "cheat", as his grandfather and father had done? OF COURSE ! But also, there's the niggling thought, now in the back of his mind, that Trump would retaliate; unlike other Westerners.
I know this history, understand just where he is coming from, AND my mother was given a Korean Fairy Tale book, OMJI THE WIZARD, when she was a little girl. I was read it when I was bitty and read it myself, once I could read. It's a WONDERFUL book and once you know a foreign culture, through its fairy and folk tales, one has a true inside look at that culture! Granted, these stories are very old, were written/told long before Korea was split, but what I've learned from knowing these stories is still true!
Just as there is a distinct difference between the German and French versions of CINDERELLA, the Korean version, written/told long before any Westerner visited that nation, or anyone from there visited a western country is quite distinct to Koreans.
And it shows just HOW brilliant Trump ( mostly Trump, I'm certain! ) and his advisers are !
And the burgers and fries didn't hurt either...
Now between you, I, and the doorpost, what’s likely to actually happen? Any actual flirtation with freedom (this thing won’t work if it’s done like Venezuela) and Kim will have to go into swift exile to save his skin. Norkies will be like, GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! They will remember the degradation.
Very insightful response!
Thank you.
I like the fact it gives Kim just two choices. Stay this course or ‘that’ will happen.
Bump for after work...
I believe some reporters believed this was from North Korea because most reporters aren’t very bright. They don’t look for truth they search for ways to prove Trump is evil. When they can’t find any they simply lie.
I remember newspaper drives, too; but can’t recall ever knowing what they were in aid of.
Will look for Korean folk tales.
So funny!
I found the caption for that. It’s “Trump-Kim Summit Lunch”
Singapore was the perfect location for an example of national transformation. See Lews book From Third World to First, which tells how he did it. I learned of the book from a consultant from Singapore I met at a national development conference in Kabul, 2004. The book clearly describes the strategies used, such as state-supported secondary education. Her Harvard degree and all associated expenses were paid for by the Singapore government.
I agree with your take on it.
He wasn’t out there seeking recognition or high fives.
He just told it like it was with no braggadocio > IMO.
Yes, I agree with your take on it.
Some of the questions were gotcha questions, but he answered so craftily that it shot their attempt down. No, he did’t put them down, he just crafted the answer so well that you had to go, ah I understand that.
He totally disarmed them.
Very good!
