Commentary: How G-7 Leaders Can Push for Relief to Global Warming
US News & World Report ^ | June 11, 2018 | By Romina Picolotti , Scott Vaughan and Durwood Zaelke

This past weekend leaders of the world's leading industrial powers – also known as the Group of Seven, or G-7 – met in Canada to discuss the global economy, trade and climate protection.

A critical issue that won't go away is this pernicious cycle: Climate change is causing temperatures to rise around the world. In response, people are racing to install more air conditioners to keep sweltering populations cool. This, in turn, increases demand for electricity and contributes to warming the climate.

Why is this a problem and what can be done about it?

During the past four decades, extreme heat has caused the deaths of thousands of people. In 2003 alone, a heat wave across Europe led to approximately 70,000 untimely deaths.

Protecting public health and safeguarding economies in a warming world requires purchasing and deploying powerful air conditioners and other cooling devices.

There is a small window to get this growth trajectory right, from a climate perspective. A first priority is to ensure that the cooling agents used in the next generation of air conditioners have the lowest feasible climate footprint.

World Bank President Jim Kim pledged the organization would increase spending to $1 billion – specifically to improve energy efficiency in cooling equipment in urban areas, as well as helping decrease use of HFCs.

But there is a world of difference between rhetoric and action. To make sure the World Bank acts on its promise, attendees of the G-7 meeting will need to request the bank to urgently report on its progress. A warming world is waiting for answers.

I can no longer take seriously any arguments made on the subject of “Climate Change” from persons with a carbon footprint greater than 0.00.

That also includes any and all emissions from their decomposing corpses.

We simply cannot tolerate any production, voluntary or involuntary, of the horrible life giving pollutant upon which the entire ecosystem literally depends, co2.

It’s time to put up or shut up, zealots.

True story: for many years I subscribed to USNWR. The #3 news mag in the nation, it seemed, was much more inclined to give a BALANCE to the issues of the day. There was also a section called “News You Can Use” which was kind of a consumer business advice.

Sad to see it decline into yearning for crumbs of leftist bread.

“Sad to see it decline into yearning for crumbs of leftist bread.”

In the early 1980s, USNWR joined Newsweak and Time in publishing an entirely false narrative of anti-Marcos riots in Manila.

I was there. What they said happened, didn’t happen. It wasn’t “sensationalism” or “bias” or anything other than complete fabrication.

Not just that.

In California “preparing for climate change” was cited as a reason for the 52 gallon per day government ordered maximum use per person.

It’s obvious that this canard is going to used for any variety of government over-reach.

NO discussion of GLOWBULL warming should take place without examing the following graph of temperature measurements since

Even the most ignorant observer will notice that temperatures change through the years BUT it was warmer in the 1930's than anything we've seen recently.

BUT if you are foolish enough to look at the ADJUSTED TEMPERATURES, it becomes clear that the data is being corrected LOWER before AL GORE and HIGHER after AL GORE started his GLOWBULL WARMING scam.

SUMMARY: The ADJUSTED temperatures indicate a warming planet but the raw measured temperatures do NOT. I suspect the "scientists" are adjusting based on rising CO2 levels, not on anything measured relating to temperatures of the Earth.

So, tens of thousands are dying because of a claimed 1 degree increase in temp and new air conditioners are needed by the millions to protect us? What irrational BS!

Here’s an alternative theory: as the people of the world become more productive, they begin to prosper, allowing more of them to own air conditioners. A by-product of productivity and prosperity is CO2, leading to more biomass, more food, and more productivity and prosperity.

As I see it, the figure you presented is, from 1890 to 1990, an example of anthropogenic global cooling - at least in the sense that the modification of the data was certainly man-made.

climate protection....?

Do they mean, guaranteeing immunity from harm to the person's/countries specified in any of the myriad of climate changes? that By any other name, A protection racket?

" Protection rackets tend to appear in markets where the police and judiciary cannot be counted on to provide legal protection..."

Algore comes to mind as well as the United Nations.

Doesn’t there actually have to be a global warming problem to begin with?

new air conditioners are needed by the millions to protect us?

That's not exactly what was said. The claim is millions are rushing out to buy more air conditioners to keep cool, but that is causing more usage of energy which in turn is causing more CO2 which in turn is causing more warming.

But even that is a ludicrous statement which is not backed up by any hard data to prove their claim.
