Eight months after his communist social media postings and conduct caused a conservative media firestorm, 2nd Lieutenant Spenser Rapone (better known as "the commie cadet") is reportedly being processed out of the Army with the most severe type of military administrative discharge -- an "other than honorable discharge."
Rapone, you may recall, is the avowed Marxist and Antifa supporter who posted pictures of himself on social media promoting pro-communist messages and expressing an intention to infiltrate the U.S. military.
He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in May of 2016, and had been serving in the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum in New York.

I looked up who sponsored the arse awhile ago. Forgot his name but he disavowed the arse as soon as the story broke.

Glad it was fort drum in the winter. Frankly I would have put this guy on rotation to Kuwait for the summers and Fort Drum or Fort Wainwright in the Winter.
I suppose this guy got a security clearance. How did anyone answer these questions:
Any reason to question his loyalty to the US; Has he ever said or done anything which would give you a reason to question his loyalty or character; do you recommend him for a security clearance with the army?? Anyone aware of what he said or did surely lied.

He should be reduced in rank to E-1 and made to fulfill his service commitment. No need wasting his WP remittance. He can stay E-1 until that is paid off.
I wonder if he will have to pay the government back, for his education? I wonder how many others there are like him, infiltrating the military? I remember one chump in my USAF squadron, back in 1968, who I thought was an outright communist. He had been in the SDS. At that time, I had never heard of the SDS, so I knew nothing about it.
Why did it take four years to realize he is an anti-American communist?! If not in jail, make him pay back that education. Dishonorably discharge him.
I did not realize that an OTH discharge was worse than a Bad Conduct discharge. Crimeny, I wish "journalists" would at least put a tiny bit of effort to get things right in their stories, instead of going for sensationalism at every turn..

Yes, sounds like we have been mostly supporting him for about six years now. Glad he will be gone. Hopefully he won’t sue about some freedom of speech issue.
The OTH discharge is still a non felony offense. He’ll still get some benefits including his SGLI coverage. Unfortunately if he didn’t commit a felony offense he still gets some benefits. I think, correct me if I’m wrong, the Bad Conduct Discharge and Dishonorable are the only ones where you lose all veterans benefits.
It isn’t.
A big chicken dinner isn’t an administrative discharge, it requires a court martial.
‘Too long’ is ok, to me. It takes all the publicity out of his act and gives him his just rewards. Well done!!
