We also never heard “homeless”, “unemployment” (remember “funemployment” - when the Dems would have you believe the middle class actually enjoyed unemployment?), or “food insecurity” - the concocted term used for our diabetes-riddled underclass - when Otoken was in office.
Was it Nancy Pelosi who said all that Middle Class unemployment was great because we could pursue our dreams of becoming poets and artists? What a pathetic joke.
I thought she tied that to ObamaCare (separating health insurance from jobs) - it would allow people to pursue “careers” that normally wouldn’t include health insurance as part of the compensation package (like artists).
She did say this about unemployment: “Unemployment benefits are creating jobs faster than practically any other program”. Talking to reporters, the House speaker was defending a jobless benefits extension against those who say it gives recipients little incentive to work. By her reasoning, those checks are helping give somebody a job. “It injects demand into the economy. It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name.”
I knew a guy who was a crane operator. The tall cranes that were used for the big multi story buildings and he was paid very handsomely.
As construction dried up at the beginning of Obama's first term he was laid off and went on unemployment and then kept extending it for the entire 99 weeks. He told me he was so well paid while he worked he had no bills and even his new home was apid off so he took 99 weeks as paid vacation.
As soon as his unemployment ran out he was again working as a highly paid crane operator.
I sure wish I could have done that but I will never take money from the government in that fashion.
Yes they do, did I imply they weren't?
No you didn’t. Just confirming that factoid. 8>)
I’ve read multiple posts on Facebook that say the data the UN used was through mid-2016. Why didnt they blame the logical suspect?
WTF?
I’m sure there were some cases (as our salaries were adjusted down to the “New Normal” lower wages from globalization) where people were paid better by unemployment than they would have been by a new job. In the financial sector around NYC it seemed institutions were simply swapping staffs through lay-offs and new hiring to erase decades of accrued increases, longer vacation times, etc. - at least for those who hadn’t had their jobs turned over to imported Asians (who are filling the financial sector as they did with tech).
I believe these dynamics are why few Americans breed anymore; like Europeans, too many of us have no financial stability at all due to the open borders.
From the article:
“However, the data from the U.S. Census Bureau he cited covers only the period through 2016, and he gave no comparative figures for before and after Trump came into office in January 2017.”
So, he knows nothing new and it’s really 0’s economy he’s talking about.
