If he lost his job as dear leader he could immigrate to the U.S. He could run for Congress. The Demonrats would love him. Maybe he will request political asylum, then become a democratic congressman.

Anybody who could have engineered a soft-landing of N. Korea were killed or purged. The most recent example is Jang Song-thaek, Kim Jong-un's uncle who was executed. His father Kim Jong-il also killed reform-minded figures.
Now we have a situation where soft-landing has become very difficult anyway you look at it.
What I mean is that a sudden change can happen overnight. Unexpected accident could be a trigger. Everybody plans and hopes that the situation can be managed in a step-by-step manner, but I doubt it would happen that way. Certain amount of chaos is inevitable even when the change is in a positive direction.

He could buy a ranch in New Zealand, and go into Cheese business. US intel agencies have some secure facilities in the country. He might be safe there.

Funny...99% of his people would jump at the chance to leave the “DPRK”.Even China seems like heaven to them. I’ve been to China and I can guarantee that it doesn’t even remotely resemble heaven.

I get this, look at the way communists deal with their opposition. They murder them. Kim himself had people killed. How many victims of Putan are there. Also how many questionable dead around the Democratic Party and we have to question Was there a FBI cover-up on these deaths. After all the Mueller investigation proves the FBI is just a political tool of the Democratic (communist) Party.
