Good points.

Rosanne's firing is so like North Korea.
*First, her comment was not racist. It did not warrant the hysteria and outrage that followed. Bush and Trump have been called far worse things. What about the comments of Kimmel, Letterman, Maher and others?
*Instead of firing her, the WHOLE Show was cancelled. The comment was NOT made on the show, the cast did not agree with it, and yet they were also punished. Just in North Korea, where even distant relatives are punished for the "misdeeds" of an accused.
*Not only was the present show cancelled, but all other shows on which Rosanne appeared, done at a time when the media was happy with her. This is crazy, and again punishes people not involved with Rosanne's tweet.

This tells me ABC wanted to get rid of a show where something even slightly pro-Trump is mentioned, and the quickness of their action tells me it was already planned. If not this tweet, they had a plan B.

I would call it an attack on freedom of speech: the comment was not that bad (worse ones have gotten a pass when actually made on the shows) and it shows that you will lose your job if you dare to express right of center opinion or simply if you don't like a certain liberal.

That's actually more complicated than necessary, though I do not doubt it is true or somewhat true.

I believe the fact that ABC's President is a Black Woman who knows Valerie Jarrett and who shares her political beliefs, is behind this.

ABC President Channing Dungey.

Channing Dungey was personally offended at her friend being compared to an Ape, and felt it was a slight against all black people, and therefore racist. Channing Dungey simply assumed that Roseanne was aware that Valerie Jarrett was black, and therefore deliberately insulted black people. Roseanne Barr believed Valerie Jarrett was Iranian and white. Roseanne Barr was unaware that Valerie Jarret is actually black. She has tweeted that she was unaware that Valerie Jarrett was black, and I believe her because in her social circles she would never dare deliberately insult a black person for being black. Few would.

So in a nutshell, ABC's hypersensitive token black female "hood ornament" acted like an angry black woman instead of a Corporate CEO she should have acted like.

No one at the company would dare say anything about it for fear of having the "Racism!" gun turned on them, so they will simply go along with it, huge financial loss and all.

The sad part of all this is the overreaction of Channing Dungey has reinforced a bad stereotype about emotionally overreacting black women. I am confident there are many out there who could have handled this with professionalism instead of acting out like an angry ape.

And yes, the Liberals running ABC probably wanted an excuse to kill the show anyway.
