Harvey Weinstein surrendered at a New York City police station shortly before 7.30 a.m. Friday, where he was arrested and charged with rape, criminal sex act, sex abuse and sexual misconduct for incidents involving two separate women.
The disgraced movie mogul, 66, was filmed and photographed arriving at the police station flanked by uniformed police officers and with a limp. He was also carrying three books, two of which TIME has identified.
One of the books was Something Wonderful: Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Broadway Revolution by Todd S. Purdum, which was released in April.
The other appeared to be Richard Schickel’s biography of the controversial director and producer Elia Kazan, known for pioneering stage productions of A Streetcar Named Desire and Death of a Salesman, as well as the movies On the Waterfront and East of Eden. Kazan, whose films earned a total of 21 Academy Awards, testified in front of the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1952, where he named eight colleagues who, like himself, had been communists in the 1930s. Kazan is among the most well-known examples of a top Hollywood figure whose behavior toward others in the industry turned him into a persona non grata.
The third book appeared to be leather-bound, and was possibly a journal or notebook.
In a statement, the New York Police Department thanked the “brave survivors for their courage to come forward and seek justice,” and said Weinstein’s arrest was the result of a joint investigation between the NYPD and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
Weinstein left the police station in handcuffs at roughly 8.50 a.m. ET

The Elia Kazan biography he was carrying was most likely sending a message to Hollywood and his Democrat friends that they better get him out of this, pronto, or he will sing like a canary and bring everyone down with him. I saw a few posts on the Hollywood gossip site Crazy Days And Nights (run by a Hollywood entertainment lawyer and the most widely read in Hollywood circles) that said the same thing.

I think Weinstein wants the same "deal" that Epstein got: he was allowed out of "jail" for up to 16 hours a day, 6 days a week. He only had to sleep in his "cell", which was a private room that he furnished himself. He even was allowed to travel all over the nation and to other countries while "incarcerated."
Weinstein is mostly likely signaling to Hillary/Obama and his other pals in media that he better be taken care of, or else.

I assume in such a case he left documentary evidence to be publicly revealed in case he suffered a tragic accident or killed himself with three bullets to the back of his head.
Though this morning it looks like he was clean shaven for his court appearance.
It does seem that normally he’s got a 5 day stubble.
Is there anything that is not orchestrated or not a photo op with these people?
Or possibly his own 'little black book' (this was was brown, but you get the idea) that had his own list of names, and crimes. He knew and knows EVERYONE in the entertainment/media/political world.
Also, why would a man who was reporting to a police station to be fingerprinted, booked, handcuffed, and arraigned in court bring with him his own little stack of reading material? This wasn't a visit to the library. He was surrendering himself for arrest - and there here hundreds of media present, covering and photographing his every single move (world wide).
He was sending a message.
Nah. Sometimes the easiest explanation is the real explanation - he was holding them when he was arrested.
I like hearing about the Kazan thing, though. I don’t know that he was really hated THEN for what he did; definitely more recently now that the commies have taken over.

If I were Weinstein, I would be watching my back. He may find himself with multiple gunshots to the back of his head. Ruled a "suicide", of course.

I’ve seen pictures of him with Hillary so possibly it was the Little Red Book camouflaged with a black cover.
