Washington (CNN)Former Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez won her runoff and became the Democratic nominee for Texas governor Tuesday night, making her the first openly lesbian and Latina nominee to win a major party gubernatorial nomination in the state.
Valdez won 53.1% of the vote while her competitor, Andrew White, obtained 46.9%, according to unofficial election results. Valdez, a former US Army captain, accepted the nomination in a speech Tuesday evening, during which she advocated for equal opportunities for Texans. "Tonight is a victory for all of us who are fighting for a stronger and fairer Texas. A tolerant and diverse Texas. A Texas where the everyday person has a voice and a fair shot -- just as I had," Valdez told supporters.

Nothing prejudicial in THAT news story. CNN/local Atlanta stations are all ogoga about the black-woman-feminist-homosexual-flavored who won the GA gov primary -— by promising she’d give everything to everybody if they voted for her racist screeds.
The headline needs to be filed with “Irrational Fantasies” Her campaign is even a longer shot than that of Donald Trump.

With each passing minute this becomes less true.
Texas Democrats have really outdone themselves this time.
Was this an open primary? I’d like to think Republican’s wouldn’t stoop this low, but did republicans influence this?
In that case, she could promote the Democrat platform plank that calls for euthanasia for the disabled.
She is a prime example of how completely the Democrat Party has bought into identity politics.
One suspects many cunning GOP members voted in this primary. This is a virtual guarantee of suicide by the Texas Dummiecrat Party.
