You’re worse than vague on Christian theology, you’re hostile to it. Why do you care one way or the other what a Pope you clearly reject says one way or the other? Oh, I see, you like his statements accepting of homosexual behavior rather than pointing out that such behavior is sin.

As far as my own concern, he is at least nominally a Christian and a very high-profile one. His statements will mislead many Christians, and will reflect poorly upon us all, myself included.

Now, are there any other hostile questions you’d like to hiss at me, or are you satiated for now?

Would it surprise you that there are Catholics who do read their Bibles?

That was very hurtful. You are forgiven.

Christ did not entrust the Church to Peter He entrusted it to the Holy Spirit and Himself. Christ is the Rock not Peter. I worship in a Church built on the Solid Rock of Christ. If your Roman sect worships in a church entrusted to and built on a human leader I pity you.

I was trained under Jesuits for my Ph.D in theology, as a Protestant - no less! I know many of them to be godly Christians. This nonsense of them being “satanic” is complete foolishness, but then again, this hatred against other churches is a staple of some on this forum.

Sadly Catholic bashing is a sport in this forum. The worse post is post 98.

I’d certainly like to think not. Though The Bible says what it says, and doesn’t seem to offer a very high level of acceptance in concert with its other moral precepts.

One of these however, is a strong sense of compassion for “the stranger” within the midst of Biblical Israel. I believe Torah holds the keys to life. Yet then - and now - it does not compromise itself to accommodate more liberal views of “evolving” society.

Compassion is key so long as the compassionate isn’t being constantly hectored as to how the homosexual sensitivity overall demands the constant attention of the masses, compassionate or not.

“God doesn’t “make” people with psychological disorders”

I actually disagree, though am a conservative and traditional Catholic. Often, psychological disorders (or their preambles) become apparent at a very young age, around toddler time. These conditions were “programmed in”, with frequent family history. BUT, none of these compel a person to act immorally and sin later in life. That is up to their own free will. True, what you might call these psychological preexisting conditions impose a bigger burden on some individuals than others. That’s life.

Genetic predisposition I’ll agree with, and even then only up to a point. Original sin. But mental illness has to manifest.

2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."

Wow...ya'll got so much wrong on the topic.

18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.

24Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

Romans 1:18-27 NASB

Paul explains all you need to know about the topic in Romans.

Amazing what you can find out when you read the texts.

Perhaps we need to address this before we move on to other topics. You state you live, occasionally, with your boyfriend. This would be considered adultery.

I live on a nice piece of land in a rural county east of Kansas City with my dog, two cats, three guns and, occasionally, my boyfriend.

You keep showing on these forums and claim to be Protestant.

Yet based on your prior posts you are Roman Catholic in everything but officially joining the RCC.

Why do you persist in this charade?

Sadly Catholic bashing is a sport in this forum.

Any critique of Roman Catholicism is bashing for some Roman Catholics.

If the open forums are too much for you, perhaps you should stay in the caucus protected threads. You will be safe there with your fellow Roman Catholics.

And unlike others I've never said I was perfect or without sin. But what does that have to do with the subject at hand?

Point to these others who are claiming to be perfect or without sin. They need correction.

I suspect you can’t, because Christians know differently.

This would be considered adultery.

And strictly speaking, adultery is sex between a married person and someone who his not his or her spouse.
