Four Democratic candidates backed by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) won primary elections for legislative seats in Pennsylvania on Tuesday.

In the Pittsburgh area, Summer Lee and Sara Innamorato, Democrats who are both members of the DSA, won primaries for state House Districts 34 and 21.

Lee and Innamorato defeated state Reps. Paul Costa and Dom Costa, both Democrats. They do not have Republican opponents in the general election.

In Philadelphia, Democrats Elizabeth Fiedler and Kristin Seale won legislative primaries for House Districts 184 and 168. Fielder does not have a GOP opponent in the general election, while Seale will take on Rep. Christopher Quinn.

The DSA hailed the legislative victories as a huge moment for the socialist movement.

Arielle Cohen, co-chair of the Pittsburgh DSA chapter, told HuffPost that she feels a "monumental shift" after the victories, noting DSA’s growing membership since President Trump's election.

"We won on popular demands that were deemed impossible. We won on health care for all, we won on free education,” she said.

“We’re turning the state the right shade of red tonight,” she added.

can’t find a more stark difference than a socialist/communist and conservative Republican. As long as the difference is made clear to the electorate, any American will know how to vote.

Agree....$oros Agenda Socialists over American Loving Conservatives.

Why this could even be a decision, is beyond me.

At least 2 American generations have not a single clue about what communism is or what happens to a country and its people who live under communism.

It has been decades since the horrors of communism have been taught in schools.

Though there are brilliant individuals in PA, the population as a whole is easily enticed by socialism. Bodes well for Bob Casey in November!

My guess is that they won’t RUN AS SOCIALISTS and they will not even put that they are DEMOCRATS on their campaign signs and literature.

Take that to the bank.

Socialism is growing rapidly in Americs. Each year more and more Americans are embracing it. Very scary.

How well I know this! It scares me for my grandchildren. 2 of them are in Christian schools and it is so expensive, plus the parents pay taxes for the public schools...

There are no absolutes being taught to our youth... no discipline in daily lives .. no consequences for actions .. no respect and no sense.

“Train up a child in the way he should go.. ....”

Brilliance, college degreed ... does not amount to much when common sense and discipline in life, is non existant.

Listen to the elders in your midst.. they know from experience... and experience tops college education.

I remember Kruschev pounded his shoe and said they’d bury us... and today, there are those who would willingly let communism be their god.. their government... where are their brains!

“Brilliance, college degreed ... does not amount to much when common sense and discipline in life, is non existant.”

Most correct you are. I am a product of the the school of Pure and Applied Science and Pharmacy. I have degrees in Geology and Pharmacy. I could have had a degree in aviation if wanted due to my commercial flying licenses. It would have only needed a couple of courses in aviation science. At that time it was of no importance to me as I was in pharmacy school and also teaching those kids in aviation how to fly.

I also have much chemistry and physics. It pains me deeply to see those sciences corrupted by politics. When the governments pay many millions of dollars for research directed at a preordained conclusion you will get that conclusion. Man made global warming is a hoax perpetrated by governments in an effort for total control.

“So called scientists” that collaborate in this hoax are naught but whores but I have much more respect for real whores. Real whores do not pretend to be scientists. Global warming scientists deny being whores. They are liars.

Yes the world is warming. The ice caps may melt completely or they may not. We may be in a brief warming period in an ice age that may return to full ice age as it has done in the past. We may be in a warming period that is a true end of an ice age and the polar caps will melt totally with about another 200 feet of slow increase in sea level. This has happened many times in the geologic past and will happen many times in the geologic future.

This does not have one damn thing to do with man. It should also be noted that at the end of the last ice age sea levels increased very rapidly for about 15,000 years. The rate of increase today is very slow. If we are really at the end of an ice age we will slowly retreat from the sea over many hundred of years if not thousands. On the other hand ice age may return and it returns quickly.

Science has been corrupted by the monies of politics.

ps
The normal condition of earth is ice age. The brief interludes of warmth are an anomaly. Enjoy the warmth, it is fleeting. Ice Ages last hundreds of thousands of years. The warming periods only last about 20 thousands of years. Geologically speaking a new ice age is due soon.

“We’re turning the state the right shade of red tonight,” she added.

Did she call the candidates who won "Comrades"?

They're openly admitting to being Communist.

I forgot to add this.

The hardest part of doing research is when you are wrong. One can commit hundreds if not thousands of hours on a concept that is wrong. It really hurts when you realize your own research hypothesis is wrong. That is how real research is done.

The bad research is worthy of publication as it will prevent others from wasting their time on the same bad concepts. I have great contempt for scientific journals that do not give sufficient coverage of bad research. They thus condemn other scientists to repeating bad research.

Also one may find things during their research that is novel and unrelated to ones original scientific concepts. Actually this happens often. I did and it was worthy of publication. I did not publish as I just wanted out of school and start making money again. Some years later my research was duplicated and published and that student deserves full credit for this. He was not from my university and since I had never published he did this all on his own.

It was about cation base exchange of Montmorillonite clays. Although this seems very esoteric it has real world applications on down hole stability when drilling oil wells and increasing production of oil.

ps

The once great journal of science, “Scientific America” is still a great journal if it concerns math, physics, geology, medical, or any hard sciences. The rest of the journal articles are left wing political crap. This once great journal continues to devote more of its pages to political science and much less to real science. That once great journal is dying by self chosen political suicide and does not even know they have selected this death.

I canceled my subscription twice. I canceled due to their political agenda the first time. I missed the good science and then subscribed again. I then realized their political agenda had become worse. I cancelled my subscription again and will never renew. Today I can find the science on the internet and pay nothing.

Science has been corrupted by the monies of politics.***

There isn’t much that hasn’t been touched by the greed and dishonesty and self importance of ‘men’. It breeds to and through weak and willing participants. The more who go that route, the more it’s deemed “okay” to live that way. Obama gave the greem light to do what is wrong, destructive amd divisive... the crease in his pants were more important than a President who keeps his promises and does what he says he will do. Elitism is a disease that attaches itself to a person and renders them useless.. an empty suit.

It’s difficult to teach children to do what is right when most are not. I tell them you have to be different .. expect you may be the only one who is honest, get used to being the oddball... and don’t let anyone change you to the wwrong path in life.

i had a son who lost his battle with leukemia a year and half ago. Mothers are not supposed to bury a son...it’s a pain that never ends. He was a man of many talents and abilities.. he applied himself and worked hard. He believed in himself and thought working hard with perserverence, he could do anything. Among his talents he was musically gifted, playing piano as early as 7. He had a goal of writing songs and producing them. Tony Bonjiovi found my son and had intentions of owning his talent. This is the uncle and producer of bon jovi. After 4 years, tony wanted to own my son and came up with a bogus contract my son never signed but tony did and said it was my son’s signature.

The criminality in the music industry equals hollywood and Washington politics.. “you don’t work for me, you won’t work anywhere” .. and other offers were set on by tony...he had the power to end my son’s career, and did.

My son never got past losing his dream .. an introduction into the world that has no mercy. As some of those who knew him in NY, they said he had no ego...he was the perfect specimin of an adult who did everything right snd never expected to be acknowledge... he just wanted to make music.

One song he wrote is in the movie, Gung Ho... called Breakin’ The Ice... Martha Wash sang it for the Ron Howard movie. It could have been a hit single but they tied Martha up with some contract and it was never released as a single.

Parents can endure, but it’s hell to watch our children try so hard and politics get in the way.

I have another son who is an inhouse attorney for Merc Pharmaceuticals in NJ. That state has some screws loose also... He specializes in patents and copywrights, world wide. He was in Britain some years, with Burroughs Welcome.. he is one with a brain that records and is top in his abilities... I have 4 sons .. a tech engineer and one who can magically make a silk purse from a sows ear.

All 4 are honest, trustworthy, respectful and good men. Ya’ have to be different and nevermind everyone else who are not. I set the example.. someone near and dear has to. I had high expextations and excuses were not the right answer. I gave as much as I expected, and never changed my ideas on right and wrong.

I come from a time when a man’s word was his bond.. where lying was not tolerated and where the local banker would make a loan on a handshake and that man’s word.

We have lost so much .. most don’t know how much.. but we seniors do.. we remember and we ache for our country and the people who don’t want to go the route the swamp has gone.

The changes that have been allowed are unbelievable... “laws” have been made by just having the gall to do it and don’t stop me .. obama was a master at it.. a dirty one indeed. The media will some day pay for what they have done... their ignorance, deep swamp thinking/living.. has come to the surface since Trump won and nothing could be hidden as they had planned.

I find the decline to be fast and deep... bad to the core.. the younger ones don’t notice... this is normal to them. it’s not the normal which made our country the greatest in the world... and the younger ones don’t care about that fact either... until it’s really all gone!
