What about my situation where my husband died at the age of 48, and I sill had 5 children to raise?

Conservative moms and dad. I gave up a six figure career to raises me kids.
My kids went to public school but I still home schooled in Reading, Math, U.S. History and how to memorize. Threw in a bit of Ayn Rand and George Orwell.
I raised my kids as a parent, not as their friend. Too many mom’s today want to be besties to their kids. How greedy can you get!!
When my eldest turned 24, he called me up with a list of complaints. All the thing’s I did which made him mad. Just as I was getting ready to hang up on him, he said “Thank you. You taught me self-discipline and if you hadn’t, I couldn’t do what I do now.”
That’s a parent’s job.
Although now he is taken up skydiving. Lordy, I don’t know where to grow more grey hair or get a motorcycle!
