Geoff Diehl vs Liz Warren ( holy smokes we have a race ! )

Freepers

Listen to Lonnie Brennan from “The Boston Broadside" on Jeff Kuhner’s show (680am WRKO) on State of MA politics. It starts from the beginning and goes for 20+ minutes.

2 major candidates, Scott Lively will challenge the current Governor Baker, that is stunning, he is going to Primary a sitting Governor.

Equally impressive is Geoff Diehl against Liz Warren. Lonnie’s money line abut Geoff is around 17:40 min mark. He thinks he he has got a chance against Liz Warren.

Note Geoff is a Trumpian candidate running in MA, this is not Scott Brown part deux. Wow, think of it, Liz Warren is potential not safe this cycle, that is huge, their will be no blue wave, it will be a red tide.

You are such a defeatist!

I used to live in Massachusetts and strange things can happen in elections there. I was a volunteer in the 2010 special election that Scott Brown won. Like the Trump campaign six years later, we were told that Brown had no chance whatsoever. But he won.

I think Stormy Warren is vulnerable this year, just as Martha Coakley was six years prior. Trump has made her a national laughingstock (with a local assist by Howie Carr).

SA76, add Jeff Kuhner to the local assist. With that said, they thought I was nuts with this post one month before the special election in 2010 for Scott Brown

From post no 72 in that thread:

Do you believe in Miracles!

This is the age of Trump, anything is possible, if you can dream it you can do it with hard work. This is the race to watch this year IMHO....

That Scott Brown special election win was a special time. Would like nothing better than to see Stormy “Lizbeth” Warren tossed on her posterior this November!

Well now...

Jeff Kuhner had Geoff on today on his radio program. I tuned in late, however I did hear that a pole ( by Geoff?, yes I now commissioned ones can be problematic ) and it noted....

* Geoff is +14% amongst Independents.
* Geoff noted he * 2% points behind Liz Warren

If this is true, it will not be a Blue Wave but a Red Tsunami, it is only July 2nd, if he is even money, what does that mean to all the potential pick up seats and what happens to them politically between now and November, can you imagine the continued slide in their numbers?

BTW Foka went full in t'day aka Abolish ICE. Ya that is gonna go over real big any blue collar in MA still trying to make ends meet, even in the Trump MAGAconomy as the MA Legislature enacted a huge tax increase that will negate any positive effects of the tax cuts to the residents of MA. How can that not be on purpose.

The audio of today's show, you can look for the audio in the 1st and late 2nd hrs I believe:

What candidate enters a race and says they don't have a chance of beating their opponent? I wouldn't count Warren out yet.

Point taken, however when I started this thread all I got was NFW, just like when Scott Brown ran for the "Kennedy Seat". It would be a Hail Mary pass, but this year? All I can say is why the hell not, why doesn't Goeff have a chance...

Because it's Massachusetts. A state that Trump lost by 27 points.

Stormy Warren put out on Twitter a photo of her and her new puppy, asking voters to submit names for it (every name will be taken seriously!) so I know her internal polling must be awful. Time to get to the hustings and tug on voter heartstrings!

I can think of a few names for her dog but I'll refrain because I like dogs too much.

I sense a red wave this November. I hesitate to say Tsunami because I don't want to jinx things.

Geoff Diehl beating the fake Indian? That’s about as likely to happen as the sun going supernova.

Aw hell. Now I gotta worry about a 40/60% chance of the sun going supernova in November.

Blue Wave Red Tide. Getting very tired of this wrong color metaphor that has been going on since the 2000 election. Both parties have mascot emblems so I thought how about Elephant stampede. I did a search and lo and behold there was a b grade or lower flick of that title back around 1951. I found the poster of it. :)

XP38, hmmm, I like your screen name, wasn't that the prototype name of the P-38? ;-)

Anyway, someone photoshopping this w/ MAGA hats on the Elephants and so much more could catch on like wild fire. If the 4 or 8 chan dudes are following this thread, I could see them running with it, pun intended!

XP38 may be as you say but when I signed up here at least for me it was an obscure Star Wars reference. Luke mentions it just after he has sold his landspeeder.

Warren is vulnerable, she’s not as popular as most think. There’s a pretty sizeable slice of the electorate (I’d guess 35%) who can’t stand her. Having said that Diehl has no shot (he was trump co-chair in 16, and Trump is not popular at all in Mass.) the person with the best shot at Stormy is Beth Lindstrom who is running against Diehl in the GOP primary on Sept 4. Don’t get me wrong, I like Diehl, was with him on the gas tax repeal a couple of years ago, but Warren would easily overwhelm him (trump ties, going after a woman...) Beth has a shot, not a good one, but the only realistic one at Warren.

Which means 65% of the electorate can stand her. No way she loses.

She’s the favorite, no doubt, but I’d say her hard core base is somewhere between 40 -45 %, no way she’d ever drop below the low 40’s. The rest are potentially up for grabs, not easily done, but possible, for the right candidate.

Looks like Diehl wins it, and Gov. Baker's challenger Lively has put a real dent in him, an unknown with no money is @ 35%...

Warren vs Diehl, GRAB the popcorn!
