Additionally, people who identified as Republican also had significantly higher uninsured rates.

The uninsured rate among Republicans rose from 7.9 percent in 2016 to 13.9 percent in the current survey period, which was conducted between February and March of 2018. The uninsured rate among those who identify as Democrats stood at 9.1 percent, statistically unchanged from 2016.

ObamaCare was Bait and Switch

Insurance companies agreed to keep initial rates low to get people to jump on the bandwagon.

Once in the system, the rates would rise over time.

Also, all those young kids who were on their parents plans will eventually be off their parents plans which help Democrats at the time.

However, how are they going to react when they find out they're now forced into an insurance plan they don't want?

Will there be a backlash?

We are uninsured and I love to see rates rise. I also smoke a cigar every month or so so I can say I’m a tobacco user. That way the bronze plan is so expensive that my taxable income is low enough that I take the unaffordable” exemption from paying the “fair share” tax. I’m 64 so it’s doable. i.e. the insurance is really expensive.

When insurance rates go up, my taxable income cap goes up.

You didn’t “lose” insurance if you didn’t want it in the first place.

Does one really “lose” something that they were forced to purchase but never really wanted in the first place?

In 1776 we “lost” our subjection to British rule.

Remember ...the uninsured rate counts those who DO NOT want insurance and are no longer forced to pay that penalty!!!

It is possible the trouble is the issuing of the new Medicare cards without the social security number.

We got new cards and as a result Medicare, AND our insurance companies say we have cancelled our insurance and we have not. I have been fighting them for the last 4 months over this. Am making headway, but we still get outlandish bills because they claim we have “no insurance”. But we do!

From the statistics it looks like there are a LOT of Dems getting the free ride and a LOT of Republicans who got tired of paying for the Dems’ free ride.....
