Sotomayor to undergo shoulder-replacement surgery

The Supreme Court on Monday announced Justice Sonia Sotomayor will undergo shoulder-replacement surgery.

Sotomayor, 63, injured her shoulder when she fell at her home earlier this month.

The court's public information office said in a press release that "tests revealed she suffered a multipart displaced head splitting fracture of her proximal humerus," and that further consultation with specialists indicated surgery was needed. The court said she will undergo reverse total shoulder replacement on Tuesday morning and will curtail activities for the next few weeks while she recuperates.

“She will wear a sling for several weeks and will undergo physical therapy for several months,” the Supreme Court said. “She is expected to recover full mobility and shoulder function.”

Did you drop me off at the surgery where his nephew was an observer of one my surgeries?

BTW, how is Shimmer1?

I see she hasn’t posted since last year

Christians are instructed to pray for all people. However, the context of this instruction is not about praying for everyone to have good health or that their finances would be blessed or that they would be successful. No, it is for their spiritual well-being for which repentance from sin is the key essential ingredient:

1 Timothy 2:1-4
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

In my opinion, it would be appropriate to pray that Sotomayor is awakened by facing her own mortality and comes to have a fear of God and a willingness to make changes that are pleasing to God. It would be appropriate to pray for her to be set free from the deceptions of Socialism, relativism, humanism, and leftism in general. Praying for her unconditional recovery of health is not a prayer I agree with.

Has she even asked for prayer? Trump has. What other leaders in our federal government have done so?

Maybe when the doctors are in there they can surgically remove her head from her hind quarters.

Well, let’s hope the surgery is a success, and everything above both shoulders is replaced with a something containing a brain. Not just a democrat-socialist recording.

I think so, but I didn't know you watched, too!

I'm sorry to report that Shimmer1 passed away last September. She did it on her own terms after three bouts of cancer, heavy radiation, three surgeries, and four rounds of chemo.

They wanted her to do a fifth round of chemo, and she said ¡no más!

She was at peace, knowing she'd done all she could. I was able to visit her a few days before her last, and her sons were with her when her time came.

Tough lady, I doubt I could have gone through all she did.

I thought you knew...

It’s nice to know they are doing this routinely now. Back in 2006 when I had shoulder surgery (I tripped over a box of Archie comics), there was only one guy in rehab who had had a shoulder replacement. It was experimental at the time and he agreed to it. It wasn’t working out too well 12 years ago. Brave man.

May her surgeon be blessed with more experience in medical theater than she has in constitutional law.

Now that is funny!

Just terrible

Our friend, the one who will not be ignored, lost her sister at the same time and I was petrified to call Shimmer1

Seems the timing worked out sadly

May God Rest their beautiful souls

She was OK with it. Enough is enough. I miss her, but I surely can’t fault her decision.

Her husband and I got her a puppy, you should have seen the joy and surprise on her face, it was worth the 1100 mile round trip to get him! It gladdened her last few days.

I asked her if I could post a prayer thread, but she declined.

Why not replace a malfunctioning brain while they are at it...

I had rotator cuff surgery last July, then 7 months of healing. I recovered fine but hurt “something” a week ago. Very painful to reach to the Left. I thought all was well, but evidently not.

While they have that anti-American skank under sedation maybe they could also do a brain replacement.

You can pray for her full recovery, I will pray for her to develop an incurable case of sepsis.
So I guess that makes her chances 50-50.

No need to make things up.

Diabetes is a serious disease. Just because it is relatively common doesn’t make it less so.
