Most of the SNL alums from the late 80s turned into conservatives: Dennis Miller, Victoria Jackson, Jon Lovitz and Scheider to name a few.

That’s it! I forgot, it was Phil Hartman that did Reagan. I love the ending where he’s still going and all of his aids are asleep. I don’t know how anyone can watch that, not laugh and think it’s demeaning to President Reagan. The whole point of the skit is that Reagan is not a dunce but knows exactly what’s going on and is the puppet master behind the scenes of his administration.

You can have a good laugh at that one and it is not demeaning to President Reagan at all in my opinion.

Even at their most mediocre, they are a huge improvement over the current crop of unfunny political hacks disguising themselves as comic actors..................

Don’t forget Laraine Newman, Jane Curtin, and Garrett Morris. (Lord and Lady Douchebag still cracks me up)

“And if people are so damned uptight that they can’t appreciate a joke at their, or their heroes’ expense, then the world is a lot worse off than I thought it was.”

Sadly, the world is a lot worse off than we thought it was.

Comedy, real comedy, is dead.
Today Mel Brooks would never have made the first movie.
Even Crosby, Hope and their generation would never make it now.

Me too. I'm on the second season of Real Rob. It's too bad he's not in Adam Sandler's new movie The Week Of coming out today on Netflix. He was in Grown Ups, but not Grown Ups 2. Have you seen him in the Ridiculous Six?

I dunno, Kate McKinnon is a terrific comic actress and Cecily Strong is, well you know, kinda hot.

With his demented grin and “O-tays” at the ready, Murphy kills it with his reincarnation of Our Gang’s controversial token brother, who just wants you to buy his compilation album. If you’ve seen it, you laugh before the jokes even drop because you know what’s coming. If you haven’t, you rewind it multiple times because you’ve just gotta see that rendition of “Wookin’ Pa Nub” again to confirm that it actually just happened.

Dana Carvey, Mike Myers, Chris Rock and Chris Farley were terrific, especially Carvey—and all had ongoing success to this day except for Farley's untimely end. I'm not a fan of Adam Sandler, but even he had a few skits I found very amusing, like Opera Man and the Hanukah Song, and he has a loyal following for his film career. David Spade is memorable for his airline attendant bit and has populated a number of sitcoms over the years.

"The fun of 'Saturday Night Live' was always you never knew which way they leaned politically," he told the Daily News. "You kind of assumed they would lean more left and liberal, but now the cat's out of the bag they are completely against Trump, which I think makes it less interesting because you know the direction the piece is going."

Even during the Dana Carvey/Mike Myers heyday of the show, it had a noticeably left-wing bias. Even Dennis Miller pandered chiefly to liberals when he anchored Weekend Update. Once in a while, a Democrat that unequivocally goofed in the news would be the punchline of a joke. But you could count on Dan Quayle being harpooned every week. They should have sent him royalty checks for being a cast member, they used his name and face so often.
