OK. That’s what makes horse races. I don’t know if this man has the ability to translate vision into a concrete reality, I haven’t met him. POTUS, who has seen a lot of people take on jobs and succeed or fail, thinks he can.

My experience with people that run big organizations is that they mostly move from organization to organization and the methods are not different whether they have a widget factory or a pharmy firm. I think this is a different animal.

I think you have to consider the job. Jobs like advertising or legal work often have meetings around food and some liquor is part of achieving the objectives. Factory work or neurosurgery Nyet!

Jon Tester has shown the baser side of the Swamp with his false accusations about Dr. Jackson...Tester is a disgusting elected Democrat...ugly and bitter. How he can face his colleagues and constitutes after this slaughter of a good and faithful servant to our nation...he can't!

The Democrats are trying to do the same thing to President Trump's pick for Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo...a man few can hold a candle to, ce rtainly not the Progressives...they don't believe in our U.S. Consitution. Pompeo is a man like no other.

I grew up in a time when it was common.

That’s a shame!

After seeing Senator Cory Booker’s act towards Mike Pompeo a few weeks ago, Dr. Ronny Jackson spent many hours preparing for Senator Cory Booker’s questions on gay sex.

And, as Obama’s physician, Dr. Ronny Jackson would’ve aced those questions.

I could not disagree with you more strongly, DoodleDawg.

Dr. Jackson was an Admiral in the US Navy, and a battlefield trauma surgeon in a challenging area.

He understands combat, combat trauma, and the unique challenges that combat personnel face, both in combat and out of combat. His job is to find good people to delegate to and to set strategic direction, which is what any flag officer should be doing.

I have worked in medicine for decades, and have worked with great administrators at all levels, but I believe having a person with extensive military combat experience and less experience administering a large medical network is more effective and better for veterans in the position at the head of the VA than a civilian with no combat or military experience and more experience running a large network of medical facilities.

Of course, I think Admiral Jackson is a talented man (as did President Trump) and that is the key. An untalented man won’t fit the bill.

Just my opinion. I think this good and capable man was done a grave and bitter injustice, and all that crap about medications is utter and complete partisan BS.

I think we can agree that the VA is a train-wreck which spends far too much money delivering mediocre service to the majority of its clients. It needs a major overhaul. Nothing I have seen in Admiral Jackson's background shows any indication that he has the qualifications needed for such a herculean task. As fine a doctor and as fine an officer as Dr. Jackson is, I believe he would have been a disaster as the VA secretary and would have set back the necessary overhaul by however long he was in office.

Agreed, I think the VA is a train wreck.

I think where I differ from you is that I think it is vital to have someone in that post with military and medical experience.

And there are few people in health care who have the large facility experience you describe and would be interested in leaving a high paying civilian position and taking a cabinet position like that, in my opinion.

I do understand your point of view, I just don’t think a quality person with that experience would do it. It doesn’t pay, and the headaches take it off the board.

Heck, who will be willing to go through that scummy gauntlet of leftists?
