Kyle Kashuv is a Parkland student who, just like Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg, was at Douglas High School the day Nikolas Cruz murdered 17 of his classmates. Unlike Gonzalez and Hogg and many other Douglas survivors, Kashuv has been a lone, persistent student voice in favor of gun rights and the Second Amendment.
Despite his support for the right to keep and bear arms, Kashuv didn’t own a firearm and had never fired one. That changed over the weekend when he went to a range with his father. He tweeted stills and video of the range session.
As night follows day, he was attacked on line for daring to fire an AR in a safe and controlled manner. Kashuv no doubt expected the reaction and shrugged it off.
But today, as the Daily Wire reports, when he returned to class, he was informed by Douglas High’s principal that his range tweets had traumatized some of his fellow students. And the reaction didn’t end there.
Kashuv was later pulled out of class and interrogated by two school resource officers, Broward County deputies.
Near the end of third period, my teacher got a call from the office saying I need to go down and see a Mr. Greenleaf. I didn’t know Mr. Greenleaf, but it turned out that he was an armed school resource officer. I went down and found him, and he escorted me to his office. Then a second security officer walked in and sat behind me. Both began questioning me intensely. First, they began berating my tweet, although neither of them had read it; then they began aggressively asking questions about who I went to the range with, whose gun we used, about my father, etc. They were incredibly condescending and rude.
Then a third officer from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office walked in, and began asking me the same questions again. At that point, I asked whether I could record the interview. They said no. I asked if I had done anything wrong. Again, they answered no. I asked why I was there. One said, “Don’t get snappy with me, do you not remember what happened here a few months ago?”
They continued to question me aggressively, though they could cite nothing I had done wrong. They kept calling me “the pro-Second Amendment kid.” I was shocked and honestly, scared. It definitely felt like they were attempting to intimidate me.
I was treated like a criminal for no reason other than having gone to the gun range and posted on social media about it.
Kashuv has criticized the Broward County Sheriff and his band of incompetent men on Face the Nation for their lack of action regarding Cruz leading up to the Parkland shooting and the school resource officer’s cowardly behavior during the shooting. Observers seeing the Broward deputies’ interrogation of Kashuv today might conclude that sweating him was simply retaliation for his nationally broadcast statements, but we couldn’t possibly comment.
If only any of Sheriff Scott Israel’s disinterested deputies had spent half as much time investigating Nikolas Cruz’s extra-curricular activities, a student with a long and demonstrated history of violence and criminal behavior on the Douglas High campus. Who knows how many lives might have been saved?

I remember well the time when I was working SWAT for a relatively large city in the mid-west. We were doing joint raids with the FBI, DEA, and ATF. It was the culmination of almost a years work at the Task Force.
We received word that one of our own had just been arrested for passing information about our operations to a local dealer. When he was brought into the detective bureau, our team watched in disbelief. For the “dirty cop” the Feds brought in was one of the most respected street sergeants on our department. He had survived riots, shootings, and had been involved in several high profile investigations.
He had also sold out our entire team repeatedly to various local dealers. Every time we would do a high risk entry or search warrant, he had already called tHe perp and they knew we were coming.
It was the lowest day of my career.
I would never have thought he would sell us out, but he did. Corruption can surface in places you’d never expect. But what bothers me is the action of the deputies as portrayed in the article. If, as reported, the deputies did detain, question, and belittle this young man, then there is a deeper cancer affecting Broward County and it’s SO.
The tone is set at the top. If this is business as usual, then Gov. Scott has to remove Sheriff Israel now. I’d like to know what the justification for pulling this kid out of class and interrogating him was. If this was a political hatchet job, there are some serious problems in the department.

They were friends..and Hogg was NOT in school that day..but he felt obligated to get on his little bike and ride to the school during the shooting..that’s why I say they should check his phone records..the way he has behaved since the beginning something stinks about him

I believe the rank and file have a moral obligation to speak out about this incident. If they remain silent, then they become their accomplices. Do you agree with that?
But alas, Sessions is actually rewarding them.. He just announced a gift from Federal TAXPAYERS of $1,000,000 for all the fine work those heroes did during and after the shooting:

It used to be parents were put in jail for keeping their kids working in the fields and making them skip school, but nowadays consciencious parents giving extra curricular education are the ones punished, whereas the democrats dragging kids out onto their political plantation growing and making them skip school for it is what these Jim Crow cops protect!!
I would think they should have a list of who he regularly contacted and release it.

Broward County has been Broward County for a long long time. It will still be the same twenty years from now. Volusia, same.
The only way it stops is for Americans en masse to go on strike. And mean it.
Pull their kids from the government schools. Stop paying for them. Time is running out though. Not just the schools, everything. Cancel cable television. Get about 50 million people & families to act as one, and shit gets done REAL QUICK. Most of the problems that ail America can be made a lot better, but it will take action. Voting won’t change anything. There is no representation for Americans, basically.

Mine too, especially those parcels which one can hardly lift. All well & good, but when do the po-po experience their “oh, s***” moment? That moment when they realize there are far, far more of us than there are of them?
I live in a gun friendly state so it’s hard to tell.

here in Florida it is illegal to record conversations without all parties involved agreeing to do so.

Folks should take in to account that Fort Lauderdale area is entirely liberal dem.
His folks should sue - seems like an illegal interrogation/harassment of a minor without a guardian present.....

Kyle needs to lawyer up, record EVERYTHING, and take these SOBs to the cleaners. Mobsters with a badge, do NOT let them intimidate you.
