combines 2016 Census data on ethnicity with 2010 data on religion from the Association of Statisticians of American Religious Bodies.

It does not include atheism or no religion, and only shows pluralities, meaning the group shown may not be an absolute majority in the county. The county-level data shows intriguing patterns across the US.

I don't know of such a map but here's the most recent US map of Jewish population distribution by county. Screen_Shot_2018-04-21_at_11.21.11_PM

Glad others like maps as I do......oddly enough didn’t take much interest in them until I got involved in World events and politics.... along with that history. All three do matter in understanding the other.

Someone asked for overlayed with crime ... not quite overlayed but here's one on top of the other.

The problem is that most states without large Jewish populations don’t bother to exit poll for Jews, at least that I can see. So, at least to my understanding, we don’t know if the Jewish vote remains consistently liberal in rural areas like it does in urban areas. I suspect it doesn’t, and where a group tends to live is generally more determinant of political leanings than religion, ethnicity or even class. What group tends to lives in urban areas as much as Jews that vote any differently?

Oh that’s really interesting!

I lived closer to Pittsburgh for a short time in a Jewish community. It was just wonderful there! Wonderful people too!

Also the Catholic/Protestant boundary close to the Wisconsin/Minnesota-Iowa borders is interesting.

I’m a map freak——always have been.

About an hour ago I was studying the route map of the London Marathon—which will start at 9:00AM GMT-——my granddaughter will be running. It is one crazy route——but fun to see and then track her.

That map you posted is awesome——keep me busy tomorrow.

Yes... people would prefer to say religion doesn’t matter these days. They couldn’t be more wrong....

Oh fun! When I lived in Lancaster, Pa. they had a huge Marathon that went right by our flat which was in the heart of the city...it was great to step out the door and watch the runners go by...you could almost reach out and touch them! I’ll never understand why it was such a thrill...but the first I had viewed up close and personal!

Same here with The Boston——watched it for years.

Boston is miles of long straight streets——London zig zags all over the center of the city. Strange.

I used to run too-—back in 1957 I ran to catch a bus.:-)

From both maps sure looks like mexico is trying to reclaim the land they once had. I’d be interested to see how densely it was populated before we got it

Having lived in R.I. I’m familiar with Boston...but never to a race.

Living here in Pa. now I recall a gal who moved here from the southern flatlands, poor girl couldn’t get use to driving the hills and curves. Said it was like trying to drive a roller coaster rail! LOLOL. So I get what you’re saying.

I ran the streets and around a high school track when I had an especially stressful life at the time...Lots of family deaths close together etc. But that’s about all the running I’ve done....it certainly helps enormously when you have a lot of ‘stuff’ on your plate!

There are, but probably not a plurality anywhere.

I suspect there are significant variances in tracking and reporting data state by state, because state borders would not be so significant otherwise. Mississippi in particular jumps out. I don’t know it as a particularly low crime state, not in comparison to surrounding states other than southern Louisiana (New Orleans) and Western Tennessee (Memphis) at least.

If you can’t stop ‘em convert ‘em. Protestant hispanics vote conservative with far greater frequency.

The distinction is orthodox or not, just as with Christians. There’s a fairly large Jewish community here in nearby Greensboro, NC. The Orthodox are conservative and few. The Reform are liberal and many.
