I found the map intriguing!
Just looking it over, it sure looks to be accurate from my travels.
The Black Belt in Alabama and Georgia. They got that from the soil not race but they sort of seem to be closely related.
Need to overlay this map with one on crime levels.
Being from the PNW and not knowing much about the subject I thought almost the whole south would look like that. Guess it was a misconception.
What is the difference in Evangelical Protestants and Mainline Protestants? Anyone know?

That would be a discussion for the religious thread I’d guess. But one of the differences is many of the Mainline churches have lost the Centrality of Jesus Christ and wrapped themselves in acceptance of the social engenering going on today.
