The social conditions of the day in Chicago (site of one of the most destructive race riots in history provoked by blacks using a beach reserved for whites.) The make-up of the jury would be unusual if there was not a rigged jury. There were blacks in Chicago but none were seated on the jury. Why?

It would be stunning if it were otherwise.

There have been laws against prostitution for centuries. This discussion has nothing to do with passing laws against it, just about injustice and selective use of the law.

Still busily typing away, showing just how extremely little you know about this topic, I see. LOL

Yes, I admit that using someone's nic, to poke fun at another poster is childish; however, you brought it upon yourself!

The law was NOT about bringing down "major prostitutions 'rings' "...whatever the bloody hell you imagine THAT to be! Go read the MANN ACT; educate yourself and stop posting your own benighted imaginings!

Again with blitheringly uneducated twaddle?

The juries weren't "rigged", and some cases, re the Mann Act, were appealed and overturned.

Not only are you not a lawyer, you also are abjectly bereft of any factual historical knowledge about this topic.

If it was directed merely at individuals then the law was even stupider than I thought.

“Trump can rectify he and I am sure he will.”

You are probably right.

And the reason is because many people will interpret the pardon as a long over due repudiation of 20th century racism in the United States; justice for past wrongs that will heal current racial divisions. It will “rectify”, as you say.

Next President Trump should sign an order retroactively making the Emancipation Proclamation effective July 3, 1776.
This will, I am to believe, “rectify” past racial injustices and heal racial divisions.

Such a Presidential order will allow the erstwhile slave states of New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Rhode Island (North and South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia too) to say “we're clean!; it has all been rectified."

And we will all feel good about it.
