Publishers are moving away from 'macho' heroes in non-fiction books for boys and moving towards an 'alternative type of hero' who to those who 'checks their privilege'. It comes following impressive sales of books that empower young women, such as Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls which has sold more than a million copies worldwide. The publishers aim to move away from the 'stereotypical idea of masculinity' and action-men style heroes such as Prince Charming and will instead focus on stories of real-life heroes such as Usain Bolt and James Harrison, a blood donor"

In other words, they’re going to ignore a large demographic of consumers who prefer the traditional masculine male as hero. Fine. Someone will start creating books, and shows for this group. That money will still be there for any publisher who wants to earn it.

This is the very reason why I enjoy watching movies from the 40s to the 60s. Just watched “My Darling Clementine” about the shootout at the OK Corral with Henry Fonda, Victor Mature, Walter Brennan, Linda Darnell and Cathy Downs.

Same here. I love that film, along with most John Ford films. I also like the Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas version - Gunfight at the OK Corral. I have tons of Blu-rays and DVDs, almost all of them from the classic period - made by and starring people who are dead now.

The war on straight white alpha males continues.

Or more aptly, the world war on European Caucasians continues.

We’ve noticed the demasculinization of white males here both physically and culturally for twenty years

Look at who runs superficial entertainment and fashion

Women and urban raised homosexual men

Beta males won’t reproduce, as they will not attract women and they will turn to sexual perversion or alcohol and drugs. This will advance the leftist agenda of destroying Western civilization and the white race.

"We’ve noticed the demasculinization of white males here both physically and culturally for twenty years."

I've noticed that the male voices in corporate ads are increasingly feminized, namby-pamby voices. Around town, I see many more feminized, whiny-sounding males than I used to, skinny guys with no butts. Maybe there is something to the "soy-boy" thing.

"Beta males won’t reproduce"

That's probably one of the hopes motivating this leftist push to disparage heterosexuality and promote every form of non-procreative sex and sexual expression imaginable. Indeed, you can't even call much of it "sex"; it is pseudo-sex, eroticism without procreation or even sexual intercourse.

When the muzzies or the Chinese or the Russians finally take us over we will have deserved it.

This constant wussification and infantilization of the population eventually will have consequences.

Prince Charming is a female fantasy.

He is a handsome rich guy who takes a poor womsan to live a life of unearned luxury.

There are no stories of rich women seeking out poor men to give them wealth.

Try “Dodge City” with Errol Flynn and Olivia DeHavilland and “Angel and the Badman” with John Wayne and Gail Russell.

It is weird that gay men are portrayed as having a good sense of aesthetics and straight men are portrayed as not having a good sense of aesthetics.

Having been in a few gunfights, I prefer at my side a man who can shoot straight and have the strength to stand his ground and fight. Girly men and fairy dogs need not apply. These men are wanted by society to excel at interior decorating and run fashionable resort spas. Rough men are needed to protect country and family.

Time to read some more Nero Wolfe

Wolfe says: .. You can depend. on a woman for anything except constancy.'' And: .. When they stick to the vocations for which they are best adapted, such as chicanery, sophistry, self-advertisement, cajolery, mystification, and incubation, they are sometimes superb creatures."

If you need some tough guy antics, too, Archie Goodwin, Fred Durkin and even Lt. Cramer can provide those.

I remember reading one or two teen books in my youth, but then I discovered the adult Library and great books!

One of the first was Captain Blood by Raffiel Sabatini, read all three of them, then Beat to Quarters trilogy, the Beau Geste trilogy, Manila Galleon, The Saracen Blade. Flew many an imaginary mission over Germany, and dug for lost treasure in Apache Gold and Yaqui Silver and Coronado’s Children in my readings.

Then Si-fi books. Dracula, H.P. Lovecraft, Issac Asimov, Ray Bradbury and many others. In my life I have read hundreds of great books.

When the librarian tried to get me a “juvenile library card” I demanded and got an Adult card. I was 14 years old and did not like “teen” books.

Strange, I did not care for Westerns for some reason, and I absolutely HATED the English literature books forced on us in school. Loved Homer and Herodotus.

In movies I have the same tastes but love the old Westerns. just saw The Big Trail with John Wayne a few nights ago.

***We’ve noticed the demasculinization of white males here both physically and culturally for twenty years****

It actually began in 1968 after the murder of Bobby Kennedy. There was a great push to de-emphasize manliness and feminize young boys to make them less competitive.
