Nobel Peace Prize for President Trump?
Townhall.com ^ | April 21, 2018 | Timothy Meads

The North Korean state media made a historic announcement Friday evening that Kim Jong-un and the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea would be suspending its nuclear missile and long range missile testing. In addition they will also be closing down their nuclear test site. The announcement comes ahead of President Trump's meeting with Kim Jong-un, a potbellied dictator he once nicknamed "Rocketman," in May. By all accounts, President Trump has been the driving force behind North Korea's sudden change in their willingness to stop their nuclear weapon program.

Now, Rep. Luke Messer (R-IL) is calling for President Trump to be awarded the Nobel Peace prize if North Korea decides to disarm all together.

“If North Korea disarms, President Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize,” Messer said in a statement released Saturday morning.

“President Trump’s peace through strength strategy is making America safer and delivering results. This is more progress in North Korea than we saw during the entire Obama administration, and it’s a direct result of President Trump’s strong leadership on the world stage,” he added.

In 2009, President Obama won the Nobel Peace prize for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."

Evidence abounds that adulation for President Obama was premature. But, over on Sky News, Cordelia Lynch is asking if North Korea is a "a chance for Trump to become one of history's 'great men'?"

From Sky News:

"Each administration has tried to get to this place and North Korea has reneged.

Has Mr Trump managed to achieve what his predecessors couldn't and in the process, secure a unlikely place in the diplomatic hall of fame? It is too early to tell of course.

But, the fact his top spymaster, Mike Pompeo, secretly managed to meet face-to-face with Mr Kim does seem to have helped pave the way for something potentially monumental.

It seems Nigel Farage, the Brexit leader, would agree with Rep. Messer and Lynch's recognition of this historic occasion.

"Those who disagree with me, I’m going to really upset you now. A few years ago President Obama, he was not even 10-months into the presidency and guess what? He got the Nobel Peace Prize for what he might do,” Farage told LBC.

“I’m going to suggest now that what needs to happen is that President Trump needs to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for managing to get talks going with North Korea. I think it’s fantastic, and I’ve been looking today at some of the rules and as an MEP I am able to nominate people for the Nobel Peace Prize," he added. “And I’ll be trying to get a petition of MEPs who support this idea."

A lot can change between now and the United States meeting with North Korea in May, but there is plenty to be cautiously optimistic about for President Trump.

He could cure cancer, malaria, and the common cold and the headlines would be, “Trump Attacks Pharmaceutical Companies!”

They would give 0bama ANOThER one for “creating the conditions” before they would give Mr. Trump one.

Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, but won’t get it. It’s reserved for leftist dictators who destroy lives.

Wanna bet kim jong un gets nominated but Trump doesn’t?

As you have stated rather clearly that Scandinavian outfit which hands out Nobel Prizes is so far to the left, in comparison it would make Governor Moonbeam look like an ultra, ultra staunch conservative being a NRA member to boot. I have a hunch before this would materialize hell would freeze over several times and thaw a couple of times in between.

President Trump should declare the Nobel Peace Prize as an Emolument and turn it down. Double spear to the heart of the liberals.

Since leaving office obummer has visited Hawaii, which is only 4705 mules from North Korea. Also, he is writing a book that will probably mention N.Korea. So I think obummer deserves another nobel peace prize.

...visited Hawaii, which is only 4705 mules from North Korea.

Is that laid out end-to-end, or how many you have to go through before the swim from North Korea to Hawaii?

And when did "mules" become a unit of measurement?

Ahhh... the new math ...

Trump should accept the Nobel Peace prize, and offer it to Obama, saying: “Here, you want another one of these? They’re worthless and meaningless, and lost their value when you got one for nothing”.

In any case, democrats better hurry up and impeach Trump before anybody even thinks of nominating him for any Nobel prize.

If it really was a Peace Prize, I might think it was a good thing.

But let's be real. Even a nomination is a tease.

They'd give it to Khomeni or Kim before President Trump

I doubt he gives a damn.
He should just tweet out that he would accept a Nobel peace prize but, ONLY IF Obama gives his back.

I would hope that President Trump accept the Nobel Peace Prize with one condition; that the NPP given Hussein, the pretender, be taken back.

The value of the NPP dropped to zero when it was awarded to the Kenyan Usurper.

Bashar al-Assad and Vladimir Putin both have a much better chance of getting the Nobel Peace Prize than President Trump does.

I don't know why they failed to give Hillary the Nobel Peace Prize (to try to help her chances of being elected). Maybe they figured that she was certain to win and thought it would be better to give it to her in her first year in office, like they did with Barry Soetoro.

There is a perfect spot for him looking face on to the left. I propose we carve it out with trained sharks with lasers on their heads. Angry bass will not do. ;-)

This really is the most likely Nobel prize outcome.

Even when they could have offered the Nobel Peace Prize to a Holocaust Survivor, they didn’t.
