WASHINGTON -- A majority of New Jersey voters support U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez for re-election, giving him a 21-point lead over Republican challenger Bob Hugin in a Monmouth University poll released Thursday.
Menendez, D-N.J., received 53 percent to 32 percent for the former Celgene Corp. executive.
It is the second survey putting Menendez up by double digits following the Justice Department's decision not to retry him on federal corruption charges. He led Hugin, 49 percent to 32 percent, in a Quinnipiac University poll released last month.
"The current state of the race does speak to what is perhaps the incumbent's biggest strength: being a Democrat in a blue state in a year that is looking very good for Democrats," said Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute.

My wife has a good friend here in CA who is from NJ (She left a cheating cop husband and five grown kids and moved West). When it comes to RAT Politics though she’s loony as the come. Patronage is a big deal with her. The Democrat are “bringing home the bacon!”

As an incumbent Democrat in a dark blue state, I'd give the odds to Menendez. If nothing changed. But it's more than 6 months to the election. Anything can happen in 6 months. (TRUMP did! He didn't even clinch the Republican nomination until May 26.)
Too bad the majority of voters in Jersey, NY, and CA. have been brainwashed beyond repair. The quicker these renegade states collapse in complete bankruptcy the better. Maybe Trump can give them a push..

He was not found not guilty he had a hung jury and Sessions declined to refile.
The last time a Democrat was reelected to a second term as governor was 1977. (Brendan Byrne, who was governor from January 1974 to January 1982, look it up.) So I wouldn't say it's completely brain-dead. There are occasional brief flashes of rational thought.
However, I think it is the only remaining state that residents are considered too stupid to pump their own gas.
Biased New Jersey jury or not, McDonnell v. United States makes conviction for corruption next to impossible.
And he wasn't tried for having sex with minors. Just taking bribes. Somebody go wake up Jeff Sessions.
