Some ppl never learn.

-Saddam promised he had no WMDs or precursor materials but would not allow spot inspections of suspected facilities. In 2006 550 tons of Uranium yellowcake were recovered from the Tuwaitha Nuclear Research Center.

-”In September 2013 the Syrian government entered into several international agreements for the destruction of its chemical weapons that stipulated an initial destruction deadline of 30 June 2014, a deadline apparently achieved in respect of declared chemical weapons.

Yet, “On 17 August 2017, Reuters published a report detailing the extent of Syria’s failure to abandon chemical weapons, citing information from investigators, inspectors and diplomatic sources. ...The Syrian government inaccurately or even falsely declared the types, purposes and quantities of chemicals in its possession, and is suspected of continuing to hold at least 2,000 chemical bomb shells that should have been converted to conventional weapons. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Use_of_chemical_weapons_in_the_Syrian_Civil_War

What type of idiot would believe NK will relinquish its nuclear weapons and ICBMs? NK only wants to forestall an attack and buy time while they produce ICBMs and nuclear warheads. They’ve been on this path for 30 years and have repeatedly lied and continued their pursuit of ICBMs and nuclear weapons. They are now in the production phase and need 3-5 years to produce enough ICBMs to completely overwhelm American AMB systems. They have already developed ICBMs, launch trajectories and maneuverable warheads which can avoid US missile fense systems in the Western Pacific. ATT their warheads can only be intercepted in the terminal phase -if at all.

Do keep in mind that NK acquired nuclear weapons under an agreement that in exchange for them getting oil and other supplies, we would quit looking.

It would be surprising for Trump to give up both sides of the agreement.

You're right, that's why the adage of trust but verify. We can trust President Trump to have America's interests first. He will not be signing any deal unless there are real inspections and timelines for taking apart their program.

The one good concrete sign I see right now (other than all the goodwill talk) is the fact that they are not doing any tests. In order for their program to move forward they have to do testing so it is at least at a standstill right now and we have given up nothing to get to this point.
