I must say, this thread is shocking, with so many deleted posts, and so many making political statements, because the Bushes are too liberal for them.
I know this is a conservative oriented site, but, is the time of someone’s death, the time to get into politics??

I’m not going to re-write my history because she died. She was who she was. No better, no worse. Especially no better.
I agree - I’ve never seen anything like this. (During many of my lurking years, the Bush family was revered by many here; and one would at least think that the overwhelming Christian majority on FR would exhibit itself somewhat more...Christian-ly, at a moment like this.)
But, at least it gives us a heads-up as to which posters to avoid in the future.

Disgusting. When her baby girl was diagnosed with cancer...she fought hard to save her at a time when beating cancer was rare. She said her memories are of her 3 yr old daughter’s chubby arms wrapped around her neck.
I pray that she is in heaven with Robin. She died like she lived with dignity and grace
What many of us are NOT trying to do is ‘play God’.
We’re respecting a Soul that has gone to its maker, and paying respects to a mourning family.
Regardless of politics, both George HW and Barbara were gracious to everyone. Barbara was everyone’s doting grandmother.
