A Statement Issued by the Patriarchates of Antioch and all the East for the Greek Orthodox, Syrian Orthodox, and Greek-Melkite Catholic

Damascus, 14 April 2018

God is with us; Understand all ye nations and submit yourselves!

We, the Patriarchs: John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and all the East, Ignatius Aphrem II, Syrian Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and all the East, and Joseph Absi, Melkite-Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch, Alexandria, and Jerusalem, condemn and denounce the brutal aggression that took place this morning against our precious country Syria by the USA, France and the UK, under the allegations that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons. We raise our voices to affirm the following:

!. This brutal aggression is a clear violation of the international laws and the UN Charter, because it is an unjustified assault on a sovereign country, member of the UN.

2. It causes us great pain that this assault comes from powerful countries to which Syria did not cause any harm in any way.

3. The allegations of the USA and other countries that the Syrian army is using chemical weapons and that Syria is a country that owns and uses this kind of weapon, is a claim that is unjustified and unsupported by sufficient and clear evidence.

4. The timing of this unjustified aggression against Syria, when the independent International Commission for Inquiry was about to start its work in Syria, undermines of the work of this commission.

5. This brutal aggression destroys the chances for a peaceful political solution and leads to escalation and more complications.

6. This unjust aggression encourages the terrorist organizations and gives them momentum to continue in their terrorism.

7. We call upon the Security Council of the United Nations to play its natural role in bringing peace rather than contribute to escalation of wars.

8. We call upon all churches in the countries that participated in the aggression, to fulfill their Christian duties, according to the teachings of the Gospel, and condemn this aggression and to call their governments to commit to the protection of international peace.

9. We salute the courage, heroism and sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army which courageously protects Syria and provide security for its people. We pray for the souls of the martyrs and the recovery of the wounded. We are confident that the army will not bow before the external or internal terrorist aggressions; they will continue to fight courageously against terrorism until every inch of the Syrian land is cleansed from terrorism. We, likewise, commend the brave stand of countries which are friendly to the Syria and its people.

We offer our prayers for the safety, victory, and deliverance of Syria from all kinds of wars and terrorism. We also pray for peace in Syria and throughout the world, and call for strengthening the efforts of the national reconciliation for the sake of protecting the country and preserving the dignity of all Syrians.

Before any engage in flaming the Patriarch let it be known that his brother, Archbishop Peter, was kidnapped by the Syrian “rebels” four years ago and has not been heard from since.

The Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of America has been praying without ceasing—in every Great Ektania—meaning at every Liturgy “for Archbishop Peter and Archbishop John, for their release from captivity and for their safe return”.

There are some of us who fear that the “safe return” may mean the recovery of their Relics.,

Syrian Christians have been there for more than 2,000 years.

Thus far, McCain’s/NeoCons’ efforts to totally exterminate have proven unsuccessful. But they are still working on this important project.

America to Syrian Christians, "Go pound sand!"

Our friends look like this:

Not this:

You losers backed the wrong horse. Sure, Assad allows you to practice your faith and earn a living, unlike our al Nusra headchopper buddies, who would slit your throats and rape your women, but still...

Perhaps if you Christians would just submit to Islam, we could all get along?

Stop looking so sad. Come on board with the winning team! "Allahu Akbar!"

Kinda, but it's Islamist militant organization al Nusra, or as we call them, the "Free Syrian Army of Moderates Who Love Fluffy Bunnies". Makes it easier to sell their plight to Americans if we call them something nice.

You are so right. Not just in Syria either....we backed Morsi in Egypt and turned up our noses at al-Sisi.

This government couldn’t have more hatred toward Middle Eastern Christians if it tried.

If we continue to support Wahhabi death cult head-choppers in their efforts to conquer Syria, exterminate the Christians there, and impose Sharia law there, do we expect that God is going to look favorably on our nation?

Matthew 25:40: “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”

So sorry, but destroying chemical weapons buildings and planes, with days of advance notice, by channels other than public announcements, is not a terrible burden to bear, is it?

Chemical weapons of mass destruction are simply but emphatically not going to be given a pass anywhere, by 3 Western nations. Is that a bad thing?

Germany grovels for fuel oil at the feet of Russia, or they historically would have joined the coalition.

Look to Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 38 for guidance.

Any armed person or group of people dressed as these are, and with faces covered by masks or hoods, should be killed on sight. No exceptions.

AXIOS to the good Patriarchates!!!!

There is no real evidence that a chemical attack took place at all!!!! And the US, British, and France military acted BEFORE the International Commission for Inquiry could go on the scene and ascertain what really happened.

The ones who said that a chemical attack occurred were the pro-jihadi “White Helmets”, who in no way can be trusted. Yet another bogus “human rightser” group, just as in “Bosnia” and Kosovo!!

Assad is a brutal strongman, but under his regime the various muslim groups and the Syrian Christians lived together in peace! That is—until JW Bush’s Iraq War and Hillary and obama’s “Arab Spring” in Syria (along with Libya and Egypt).

We all would have been better to leave well enough alone, and for Trump to pursue his original plans to get along better with Russia!!!!
